Assistant Plant Engineer

*Job Summary* We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented *Assistant Plant Engineer* to join our team at Technic – Engineered Powders Division in *Woonsocket, RI*. In this role, you will assist the Lead Plant Engineer in overseeing the daily maintenance, mechanical reliability, and operational efficiency of our facility. You will support the preventive maintenance (PM) programs, lead a team of skilled technicians, and ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety (EHS) regulations. *Core Responsibilities* * *Equipment Reliability:* Coordinate and execute preventive maintenance schedules for chemical processing equipment, including reactors, pumps, boilers, chillers, compressors, and piping systems. * *Team Leadership:* Support the daily activities of maintenance technicians, mechanics, and external contractors when necessary. * *Process Optimization:* Assist in troubleshooting equipment failures and process bottlenecks; implement Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to improve plant uptime. * *EHS Compliance:* Follow OSHA, EPA, and Process Safety Management (PSM) standards to ensure a safe work environment. * *Project Management:* Support the implementation of capital expenditure (CapEx) projects, facility modifications, and equipment upgrades. * *Documentation:* Manage maintenance records, equipment history, and spare parts inventory using our Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). *Qualifications & Requirements* * *Education:* *Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering*, or a related industrial discipline. * *Experience:* *2–5 years of engineering or maintenance experience* in a chemical processing, petrochemical, or heavy industrial manufacturing environment. * *Technical Skills:* Strong understanding of fluid mechanics, heat transfer, rotating equipment, VFDs, and instrumentation/controls (PLCs/DCS).
