Position description The Center for Jewish Studies in the College of Letters and Science at the University of California, Berkeley invites applications for a pool of qualified temporary lecturers to teach courses as needed in the areas of (but not limited to), Jewish history, languages, literature, culture, or other topics in Jewish Studies. General Duties: In addition to teaching responsibilities, general duties include holding office hours, assigning grades, advising students, preparing course materials (e.g. syllabus), maintaining a course website, and using a learning management system ( e.g. bCourses at UC Berkeley, Canvas, etc.), and participation in programs and events in the Center. Unit: http://jewishstudies.berkeley.edu Qualifications Basic qualifications (required at time of application) Minimum qualification required to be considered an applicant for the position is an advanced degree or enrolled in an advanced degree program. Additional qualifications (required at time of start) For those who are not US citizens or permanent residents, a legal permit that allows work in the United States (such as a US Visa that allows employment) is required by the start date of the position.
