Systems Engineer (Submarine Programs)
Paragon Force, Inc. is seeking a Systems Engineer to support U.S. Navy submarine programs. This position focuses on the integration and interface of multiple hardware and software subsystems to ensure that all components function seamlessly together as a complete, mission-ready system.
This is not a single-component design role — it’s a hands-on, systems-level engineering position for someone who understands how to make electrical, mechanical, and software subsystems interact efficiently, safely, and reliably in a complex defense environment.
Key Responsibilities
Engineer and integrate multiple hardware and software subsystems (e.g., power, propulsion, controls, communications, and safety systems) to operate as a cohesive system within submarine platforms.
Design and document system interfaces, requirements, and performance specifications.
Perform functional analyses, trade studies, and risk assessments for system-level integration.
Develop and maintain interface control documents (ICDs), wiring diagrams, and configuration baselines.
Collaborate with design, software, and test engineers to ensure successful system-level performance.
Participate in system validation, verification, and acceptance testing for integrated hardware/software systems.
Troubleshoot complex system-level issues during integration and sea trials.
Ensure compliance with Navy and DoD technical standards, safety requirements, and quality assurance protocols.
Provide technical support for design reviews, readiness assessments, and customer briefings.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Systems, Electrical, Mechanical, Computer, or related Engineering discipline.
3–7 years of relevant systems integration experience (hardware/software).
Proven ability to design and manage system interfaces between multiple subsystems.
Experience with system-level troubleshooting and integration testing.
Working knowledge of requirements development, modeling, and documentation.
Familiarity with embedded systems, signal interfaces, power systems, or control systems.
Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
U.S. Citizenship required; must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.
Preferred Experience
Experience with submarine, naval, or other undersea systems integration programs.
Knowledge of MIL-STD, NAVSEA, or DoD interface and qualification standards.
Background with battery systems, propulsion systems, power electronics, or related subsystems.
Experience coordinating with government engineers, OEMs, and field support teams.
