We have an exciting locum tenens opportunity for a Board-Certified Pediatrician in the beautiful northern Michigan area, near Traverse City, MI. Position Overview: Role: Pediatrician ??? Locum Tenens Location: Near Traverse City, MI Start Date: November 1, 2024 Duration: Ongoing Shift Type: 24-hour call shifts Weekend Requirements: Yes On-Call Requirements: Yes, including holiday coverage Key Responsibilities: Provide newborn nursery call services, including rounding on newborns, particularly those readmitted for conditions like hyperbilirubinemia and failure to thrive. Average of 3-4 newborn patients per day with no inpatient pediatrics other than nursery care. Coverage for specific dates in December (5, 6, 11, 12, 23-30) and January (23-24). Nursery setup includes up to 3 transitional newborn beds in a Level I nursery and Level II labor/delivery unit. Requirements: Board Certification in Pediatrics ??? Required Clean medical history ??? No malpractice or background issues, without exceptions NRP and PALS certification ??? Required Michigan medical license ??? Required at the time of submission Local candidates within driving distance ??? Strongly preferred MI Medicaid/CHAMPS enrollment ??? Required COVID vaccination ??? Required Credentialing: Fast-track credentialing is available to meet the November start date.
