If you need assistance with the application process, please contact the Office of Human Resources at hr@cord.edu or 218-299-3339, or visit the Human Resources Home Page.Position DetailsPosition Title:ElectricianPosition Type:StaffLocation:MoorheadPosition Opening Date:5/26/2026Open Until Filled:YesEmployment Type:Hourly Non-ExemptBenefit Eligible:YesGeneral Employment Period:Year-roundGeneral Work Schedule (days of week):Monday - Friday (On-call as assigned)General shift hours:8:00 AM- 4:30 PMJob Summary:About the RoleThe primary responsibility of the Electrician shall be to maintain all electrical systems of the college campus in safe, operable and reliable condition.Job Duties/What You'll DoSupport the mission and vision of Concordia College and demonstrate the competencies as defined for this position.Building Electrical Systems and High Voltage Distribution Systems - 20%Building Electrical Systems:Installation, maintenance, repair or replacement of building transformers, panel boards, motor control centers, distribution panels, power and lighting circuits and their components, and proper labeling of all systems components and circuits* High Voltage Distribution Systems:* Installation, maintenance, repair or replacement of substation switchgear and fusing components, distribution wiring, junction boxes, break ells, building disconnects, and transformersFire Alarm Systems and Lighting Systems - 20%Fire Alarm Systems:Installation, maintenance, repair or replacement of control panels, smoke and heat detectors, door holders, pull stations, horns and lights, and fan relays* Lighting systems:* Installation, maintenance, repair or replacement of light poles or fixtures, lamps, diffusers and globes, and photo or time controlsControl Circuits and Electric Motors and Special Equipment - 20%Control Circuits:Installation, maintenance, repair or replacement of motor controls, safety and interlock controls, electric temperature controls (120v), lighting controls, and time switches* Electric Motors:* Installation, maintenance, repair or replacement of all electric motors, including those associated with AHU's, pumps, fans, power drives, air conditioning and refrigeration units* Special Equipment:* Installation, maintenance, repair or replacement of laboratory equipment, instrumentation, appliance, commercial kitchen equipment, and miscellaneous other special use equipmentPreventive maintenance- 20%Inspect high voltage distribution system on an annual basisMaintain transformers in a clean mannerInspect panel boards, breaker panels and other components for loose connections or other potential problemsKeep all electrical components clean, dry and in safe, reliable working orderSafety precautions and additional responsibilities- 20%Maintain all tools in a safe and workable orderFollow approved safety practices of the tradeProtect other workers, employees, students, and visitors from potential hazards by clearly marking and protecting work sitesComply with all requirement of the National Electrical CodeOther duties as assigned by Master ElectricianMaintain availability for call back to perform emergency or critical repairs.This "on call" schedule will require on call duty approximately once every six weeks.When "on call", must be able to report to campus within 30 minutes of receiving the callWhat We're Looking ForA Self motivated employee who is a licensed in the electrical trade and knowledgeable in the electrical code.
