In this role, you'll be the go-to resource for employees needing IT support, while also playing an important part in keeping the City's technology secure, reliable, and running smoothly.What You'll DoBe the first point of contact for IT questions and issues, providing friendly, helpful support to end usersTroubleshoot hardware, software, and connectivity problems and see them through to resolutionLog and manage service requests in the ITSM system, keeping everything organized and on trackSet up and maintain computers, laptops, and mobile devices so employees have the tools they need to succeedManage user accounts and access through Active DirectoryHelp keep systems secure and up to date with regular monitoring, patching, and updatesWork with senior IT staff on network, server, and infrastructure support when neededIdentify recurring issues and help implement long-term fixesSupport IT projects like system upgrades, new software rollouts, and equipment refreshesStep in during emergencies to help ensure City operations continue without interruptionWhat You BringAn associate degree in IT (or similar experience) and at least two years in a technical support roleA solid understanding of Windows, Microsoft Office, and basic networking conceptsA problem-solving mindset and a willingness to dig in and figure things outStrong communication skills-you can explain technical issues in a way people understandA team-oriented approach and a genuine desire to help othersAdditional DetailsValid Texas driver's license requiredCertifications like CompTIA A+, Network+, or Security+ are a plusPrimarily office-based, with occasional physical activity (lifting equipment up to 50 lbs)Designated as Essential Critical Infrastructure personnelWhy Join the City of Katy?You'll be part of a team that keeps the City connected and running every day.
