Veteran and retired candidates welcome!Job Overview:We are seeking an experienced Logistician II for our Norfolk, VA office for a mid-level professional responsible for oversight of ordering and tracking material, tooling, and rented equipment based up requirements in supporting multiple/ diverse delivery orders, contracts, and independent purchase orders of tasking efforts. To monitor the life cycle of procured and government-furnished property, supplies, tools, consumables and technical equipment. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Essential duties & responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:Ensure that all services are delivered and all tasks are performed in accordance with the SOW.Ensures the execution and continuous improvement of standard logistics processes, such as the replenishment system, data interchange systems, demand management, electronic data systems , and related functions.Support other key management personnel in their responsibilities and ensure they manage in line with relevant statutory, security, environmental, health, and compliance requirements.Maintain a professional staff and ensure that they follow established Government training protocols, policies, directives, and procedures at all times.Communicate effectively with the US Government employees and departments to accomplish tasks and requirements and promote a customer friendly environment in support of operations at all levels.Meet the requirements SOW, delivering high quality services that align with the needs of the customer and in accordance with applicable statues and industry best management practices.Build relationships with strategic customers through logistics initiatives. Integrates learning from customers, competitors, operating entities, distribution, transportation, customer service, other industries, industry groups, and professional training to continuously improve competitive position.Oversee the receiving, delivery, storage, calibration, and stock consolidation of all materials, equipment, office equipment and supplies, to include services such as copier/printer, mail and courier services, trash disposal, management/delivery/setup for temporary household services, training and conferencing setups and breakdowns, and the base bicycle management/repair services.Manage the logistics operations in the 85,000 square foot warehouse and external storage areas.Oversee, as required, the planning and reorganization of warehouse spaces to optimize utilization and meet operational requirements.Perform system duties using Government approved warehouse/ management control systems (to manage inventory; track day-to-day usage and set re-order points for projection of future stocks, which includes consumables and pricing updates to tracking templates)Ensure warehouse and annex resident * storage areas are neat, organized, and efficient for operations.Develop, update, and maintain Job Material Lists (JML) as required for task entirety. Coordinate with subcontracting to develop Purchase Orders, renting equipment, and as required assist with subcontract requirements for support.Develop, issue, and maintain tracking records of DD1149, for Government Furnished Material (GFM).Coordinate with local Defense Reutilization and Marketing Offices (DRMO) or approved secured methods for disposing excess property. All disposal methods must be coordinated with Government representatives.Perform additional duties outside of your standard responsibilities as needed to support production and project completion.Required:Five or more (5+) years of functional experience.Demonstrated knowledge of industry trends and best practices with regards to OSHA practices, MSDS, warehouse safety, supply chain management and inventory control procedures.Familiarity with Contractor Purchasing Systems and Supply Chain Management.Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead a small team.Preferred:Experience with PreVeil, Google Smartsheet, or similar platforms.Experienced Forklift licenseKey Competencies:Attention to detail and accuracyAbility to manage multiple prioritiesStrong interpersonal and communication skillsDiscretion in handling sensitive informationProblem-solving and adaptabilityVastly familiarity with NAVSEA Standard Item requirements.Physical Requirements:Exposure to open-air environments, including noisy, hot, and cold conditions.Required to visit project sites aboard ships and rigs, both onshore and offshore.Must wear various types of personal protective equipment (PPE), such as hearing, eye, head, and hand protection, as required.Site visits may involve standing on a variety of surfaces and angles, bending, crouching, and climbing over obstructions such as scaffolding, ladders, and internal barge or boat structural components.Exposure to sound levels exceeding 100 decibels.Must possess sufficient visual acuity, peripheral vision, depth perception, and night vision to inspect marine components and systems, identify defects or irregularities, and safely operate tools and equipment.May work in confined spaces with limited ventilation.Requires prolonged periods of sedentary work, including sitting and/or standing.May be required to operate machinery, power tools, and/or heavy equipment.Must be able to communicate effectively to exchange and comprehend information.Frequent exposure to extreme weather conditions, including high heat and extreme cold.Must be able to lift and carry 30 lbs. or more, depending on the task requirements.Must be physically able to ride ships at sea for extended periods, including withstanding ship motion and working in various sea conditions.Reasonable Accommodations Statement:To perform this job successfully, an individual must perform the essential job duties satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodation and without posing a direct threat to the safety or health of employee or others.
