Building Management Systems Engineer
Job Title: Senior BMS Hardware EngineerLocation: Mountain View, California (Onsite – 5 Days/Week)Type: Full-Time / ContractJob DescriptionWe are looking for an experienced Senior BMS Hardware Engineer to join the next-generation autonomous aircraft development program for Urban Air Mobility (UAM). The engineer will lead the design and development of safety-critical Battery Management System (BMS) hardware for Gen 6 aircraft platforms.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the architecture, design, and development of advanced BMS hardware systems for high-voltage aircraft applications.Design and develop analog/digital circuits, power conversion boards, sensor interfaces, and embedded control hardware.Work closely with Systems, Mechanical, Test, Safety, and Certification teams to deliver fully integrated and reliable hardware solutions.Perform hardware integration, validation, troubleshooting, and rigorous testing for safety-critical aerospace systems.Own hardware lifecycle activities including design, verification, procurement support, and production readiness.Participate in design reviews, technical requirement definition, certification support, and engineering best practices.Support documentation and verification activities aligned with aerospace certification standards.Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical hiring/interview processes.Required Skills & ExperienceBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with 8+ years of experience OR Master's degree with 6+ years of experience.Strong experience in Battery Management Systems (BMS) and High Voltage (HV) systems.Background in aerospaceautomotive, EV, or other safety-critical embedded systems environments.Hands-on expertise in analog and digital electronics designStrong experience with PCB/PCBA schematic capture and layout tools, preferably Altium DesignerExperience with embedded hardware platforms including:MicrocontrollersMicroprocessorsFPGA-based systemsFirmware/hardware integrationGood understanding of:Embedded systems architectureSensor interface boardsPower electronics / power conversion designInterconnect systemsStrong debugging, validation, and hardware integration skills.Preferred / Nice to HaveExperience with aerospace standards such as:DO-254DO-160GExperience working on electric aircraft, eVTOL, EV, or autonomous mobility platforms.Exposure to certification-driven development environments.Work EnvironmentInnovative autonomous aircraft / Urban Air Mobility program.Highly collaborative engineering environment.Onsite role at Mountain View HQ (5 days/week).
