Turnaround Manager

Position SummaryThe Turnaround General Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of turnaround operations within the petrochemical industry, ensuring safety, quality, and execution goals are met. This role directs team efforts to comply with company and client protocols, requirements, and expectations for turnaround work.Key ResponsibilitiesFoster a continuous improvement culture focused on high-performance turnaround execution (readiness reviews, post-turnaround reviews, and actionable follow-ups)Utilize and manage key resources and equipment related to turnaround eventsDevelop and use forecasting tools for labor, equipment, and resource planningSupport sales and marketing efforts related to turnaround opportunitiesOversee estimating efforts, ensuring scope definition and deliverables are clearly established and metEnsure turnaround projects are staffed with appropriately sized organizations based on complexity and scopeEnsure all company and client deliverables are identified and completedManage budgeted work scope, including change management processes and communicationImplement and monitor performance metrics (earned value, schedule compliance, manpower curves, etc.) in alignment with requirementsDevelop financial forecasts and maintain profit and loss accountabilityBuild and maintain strong working relationships with internal teams and client personnelEnsure all work complies with quality control standardsPromote a work environment aligned with policies related to discrimination, harassment, and workplace conductManage hiring efforts to meet project and operational demandsAdminister subcontractor and union relationships as requiredManage and document corrective actions in accordance with company and client requirementsProvide performance feedback and recommendations for employee development and compensation adjustmentsSkills and CapabilitiesStrong technical expertise in turnaround execution and petrochemical operationsAbility to identify potential issues and proactively mitigate risksStrong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize effectivelySound decision-making and problem-solving abilitiesFlexible and adaptable to changing priorities and operational demandsPersistent follow-through to ensure issues are resolvedDetail-oriented with strong accuracy and quality focusStrong business acumen with the ability to analyze data and drive improvementsProven leadership skills with the ability to delegate, manage workflow, and hold teams accountableCustomer-focused mindset with strong relationship management skillsQualificationsBachelor’s degree requiredMinimum 10 years of project management experience in the petrochemical industry8–10 years of experience leading teams, including hiring, staffing, and developmentExperience interpreting technical manuals, drawings, and specificationsBackground in routine and corrective maintenance for process facilitiesStrong knowledge of process piping systems, exchangers, vessels, towers, and related equipmentProficiency with enterprise systems and standard business softwareExperience creating, analyzing, and presenting financial and operational reportsStrong written and verbal communication skills across all levelsAbility to maintain confidentiality of sensitive business and client informationTravel RequirementsUp to 50% travel required, primarily within the West Coast
