Systems Administrator - SME
OverviewAs a System Administrator SME with Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI), you will support a customer operating out of Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling, DC. The System Administrator serves as the Program Office's information technology and is responsible for supporting, designing, maintaining, and monitoring internal and external networks as well as implementing and managing all systems, applications, security, and network configurations. Additionally, the Senior System Administrator would resolve network performance issues, recommend upgrades, patches and new applications and equipment, and provide technical support and guidance to users.ResponsibilitiesPersonnel performing in this position shall be an experienced and motivated information technology (IT) professional with the necessary skills to support AFLCMC/C3B by independently executing IT/Systems Administrator tasks in a classified work environment.Support the implementation, configuration, operations, and maintenance of multiple classified and unclassified networked systems.Plan, coordinate, and install applications software and hardware for multiple classified networked systems.Define/resolve information technology issues; provide troubleshooting/Helpdesk support to all ABMS assigned personnel.Maintain inventory control records for all IT equipment, to include current and future inventory; this includes new software and networks.Oversee the installation and configuration of applications software and the establishment of user environments.Manage installation of system patches and enhancements/updates and ensures system integrity is not compromised.Provide proactive consultation and instruction with system users to ensure seamless implementation of changes.Provide secure video teleconferencing (VTC) support.Qualifications12+ years of relevant System Administration for DoD networks.Security+ CertificationKnowledge of TCP/IP fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, FTP, SSH, IP CONFIG)Experience in Technical Support, Cloud Computing, Information Security, and ComplianceInstalling, configuring, and managing network switches and routers (versed in OSPF, MPLS, SDN, routing/switching on Juniper and Cisco hardware platforms)Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficientlyEducation RequirementsBachelor's degree required with 16 years of Sys Admin experience or Master's Degree with 12 years\' Sys Admin experience.Clearance RequirementsActive Top-Secret clearance with SCI and SAP eligibility.At least 12 months of Special Access Programs (SAP) experience within the last 3 years.Please Note: U.S. Citizenship is required.Apply NotesLI-DB1 • MTSIJobsBenefitsStarting PTO accrual of 20 days PTO/year + 10 holidays/yearFlexible schedules6% 401k match with immediate vesting up to $9k annuallySemi-annual bonus eligibility (July and December)Company funded Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) - a separate qualified retirement accountUp to $10,000 in annual educational reimbursementOther company funded benefits, like life and disability insuranceOptional zero deductible Blue Cross/Blue Shield health insurance planMTSI embraces nine core values including our first core value of Employees come first.
