Job Summary:The Parts Manager is responsible for leading the daily operations of the parts department within a dealership environment, ensuring efficient inventory control, strong profitability, and exceptional customer service. This role supports both retail and service operations, with a strong emphasis on familiarity with Honda parts systems, standards, and best practices.Key Responsibilities:Oversee all aspects of the parts department, including retail, wholesale, and internal service supportMaintain accurate inventory levels through effective ordering, stocking, and cycle countingUtilize dealership management systems (DMS) to track parts, sales, and performance metricsEnsure timely fulfillment of parts requests for technicians and customersEstablish and maintain relationships with OEM and aftermarket vendorsMonitor departmental profitability, margins, and expense controlImplement pricing strategies aligned with dealership goals and OEM guidelinesManage parts returns, warranties, and obsolescence to minimize lossesTrain, supervise, and evaluate parts department staffEnsure compliance with manufacturer standards, safety regulations, and company policiesResolve customer concerns and ensure a high level of customer satisfactionQualifications:High school diploma or equivalent (college degree a plus)3+ years of experience in a dealership parts department, with strong preference for Honda or other OEM experienceProven leadership or supervisory experienceFamiliarity with dealership systems (Reynolds & Reynolds)Strong understanding of OEM parts ordering systems and proceduresExcellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skillsPreferred Experience:Direct experience with Honda parts catalogs and ordering platformsKnowledge of manufacturer return policies, warranty processes, and parts marketing programsExperience managing wholesale parts operationsSkills & Competencies:Inventory forecasting and controlTeam leadership and staff developmentVendor negotiation and relationship managementAnalytical thinking and financial awarenessCustomer service excellenceAttention to detail and accuracyWork Environment:Dealership setting with both office and warehouse responsibilitiesRegular interaction with service technicians, vendors, and customersMay involve lifting, standing, and handling automotive parts
