Run the Rewinder machine and provide basic adjustments to the product as needed. Has knowledge of all types of product/paper that is run on the Rewinder machine. Set up and operate the Rewinders to uphold quality per customer specifications in a timely manner to meet deadlines. Responsible for the quality of the product and does quality inspection check to Pro-Con standards. Follow all safety procedures, understand all safety equipment and ensure direct reports adhere to the company safety policies and procedures. Also maintain the Rewinders to include general maintenance, cleaning and trouble-shooting.
Position Details:
1st shift – (12-hour shifts) 7:00am - 7:00pm, 4 days on, 4 days off
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Perform Rewinder set up to ensure the quality and efficiency of material being processed and ensure the continual operation of the machine.
2. Must be familiar with the basic machine functions in order to meet production deadlines.
3. Must understand and be able to perform all Rewinder helper duties to include: packaging, labeling, opening rolls, cutting cores, and splicing.
4. Must be able to competently utilize the company's ERP system (EPICOR), label program(s), Microsoft Excel, and any other necessary programs/systems required for the job.
5. First line of quality control; detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions. Follow the Standard Operating Procedure to report any problems with the beginning or ending product. Make any necessary adjustments to correct the situation.
6. Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean, orderly condition and follow the prescribed safety regulations.
7. Perform prescribed preventative maintenance such as air leak repair and break pad changes on Rewinders as required.
