This role drives organizational performance across manufacturing, financial management, sales growth, and team leadership while executing long‑term strategic initiatives. The General Manager will lead cross‑functional teams, optimize operational efficiency, and maintain a strong market position through quality, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement. Location Hopkins, SC Company Smith‑Columbia Reporting Structure Reports To: CEO Direct Reports: Cross‑functional department leaders (Operations, Accounting, HR, Safety, Engineering, etc.) Key Responsibilities Operations & Leadership Oversee daily operations across all plant departments, with a focus on manufacturing performance. Provide leadership and direction to cross‑functional teams including accounting, HR, and safety. Drive a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Strategic Planning & Execution Partner with the CEO to develop and implement long‑term strategic plans. Establish operating plans, budgets, and performance targets. Participate in executive leadership decisions to support company growth. Financial & Business Performance Own full profit and loss responsibility. Monitor financial performance, cost structures, and operational efficiency. Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, including payroll, receivables, and payables. Sales & Market Growth Drive revenue growth through effective sales and marketing strategies. Maintain a competitive market position through quality and customer satisfaction. Support customer relationships and ensure successful project delivery. Quality & Continuous Improvement Ensure compliance with quality standards and industry regulations. Lead process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs. Monitor job progress to ensure timely delivery and installation. Asset & Operational Management Oversee maintenance, capital planning, and equipment upgrades. Ensure environmental compliance and long‑term asset preservation. Engineering & Innovation Support engineering team development and technical excellence. Drive innovation in product design, manufacturing processes, and applications. Maintain involvement in industry associations and new product development. People & Culture Lead hiring, training, and development of staff. Foster a safe, team‑oriented work environment. Promote employee engagement, accountability, and performance. Qualifications Education Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or related field required. Advanced degree (MBA or similar) preferred. Experience 10+ years of leadership experience in manufacturing or engineering environments. Proven track record of driving profitability, growth, and operational excellence. Experience managing large teams, budgets, and cross‑functional operations. Technical Skills Strong financial management and business acumen. Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles. Experience with data analytics and enterprise systems.
