Major product lines include a complete line of thermoplastic and metal fabricated enclosures, fiber optic cable connection and management systems and high performance below grade vaults.DescriptionReceiving Clerk-Material Handler is responsible for the physical movement of all received items from staging areas to storage areas, movement of all completed or partially completed work in process inventory to designated staging areas, supplying work centers with all materials and supplies used in production and ensuring that all product moved is properly identified and quantified.Essential FunctionsClear, effective oral and written communicationSafely operate forklifts and all warehousing equipmentAccurately and efficiently perform material transactions using handheld scanners and Oracle software platformsAble to use computers and familiarity with MS Word, Excel and OutlookWear required safety equipment/PPEObserve and enforce manufacturing and warehousing safety practicesPerform area clean up as neededReport all accidents or near misses to department lead and/or shift supervisorWork over-time as neededFlexibility to cover different shifts based on Company needsKnowledge OfWarehousing, shipping and receiving practicesGood understanding of quality and safety practicesAbility To/Training RequirementsProper use of warehousing equipmentMust understand and follow all departmental safety rulesProper use of all safety equipmentUnderstand Safety Data Sheets (SDS)ISO sections pertaining to the positionEquipment UsedForkliftsPallet jacksHand trucksStretch wrap machineBanding equipmentBarcode scanners and printersComputer system; UPS, FedEx and Oracle platforms, MS Word, Excel and OutlookQualificationsMust have a valid driver's licenseHave at least one year of experience working in a warehouse, manufacturing, or production facilityHave at least one year of forklift experience and forklift certificationLogistics or supply chain background preferredHigh School graduate or GED equivalentMust be able to speak, read/comprehend and write in EnglishObtain and maintain forklift operator certificationGood vision (this can be accomplished with corrective lenses), central and peripheral vision in both eyes to detect objects or movement in the field of view.Physical Demands And Working ConditionsThe physical demands and working conditions requirement indicated below are examples of the demands that must be performed in carrying out the essential job functions.Physical Demands: Standing, sitting, walking, use of central and peripheral vision, and hearing (up to continuously); speaking/verbal communication, bend/stoop, twist neck and torso (frequently); reach, hold, grasp, push, pull, lift/carry raw material, finished product, tools and machinery up to 50 pounds (frequently)Working Conditions: Work indoors and outdoors; exposure to temperatures and conditions commensurate with outdoor seasonal temperatures.
