MACHINE OPERATOR

Machine Operator Location: Chicago, IL Job Type: Full-Time Schedule: Monday–Friday | 6:00 AM–4:00 PM Pay: $22.50–$27.00 per hour, D.O.E. Job Summary Staffing Network is seeking experienced Machine Operators with hands-on experience operating Horizontal and Vertical Hayssen packaging machines. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, food manufacturing experience, and the ability to maintain production efficiency while meeting quality, safety, and GMP standards. Key Responsibilities * Set up, operate, and troubleshoot Horizontal and Vertical Hayssen packaging machines. * Perform machine changeovers, adjustments, and preventative maintenance. * Operate and monitor multiple pieces of high-speed packaging equipment. * Calibrate and operate Mettler Toledo scale systems. * Conduct pre-operational inspections to ensure equipment is production ready. * Monitor product quality throughout production and make necessary machine adjustments. * Read and follow production schedules, work orders, and operating procedures. * Complete production documentation and machine logs accurately. * Maintain GMP, food safety, sanitation, and housekeeping standards. * Work closely with production, quality, and maintenance teams to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime. Qualifications * 2–4 years of experience operating Horizontal and Vertical Hayssen packaging machines required. * Experience operating high-speed packaging equipment in a food manufacturing environment. * Experience with Mettler Toledo scale systems preferred. * Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. * Ability to perform machine setups, changeovers, and minor mechanical adjustments. * Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. * Ability to work independently and as part of a team. * Knowledge of GMP and food safety standards. Physical Requirements * Ability to stand and walk for the duration of the shift. * Frequently use hands to operate machinery and equipment. * Ability to bend, kneel, squat, reach, twist, and climb as needed. * Ability to work in tight quarters and hard-to-reach areas. * Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. * Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
