Machine Operator

Experienced Machine Operator Location: Chicago, IL Job Type: Full-Time Pay: Competitive – Based on Experience Job Summary Staffing Network is seeking experienced Machine Operators with hands-on experience operating Horizontal and Vertical Hayssen packaging machines. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, experience in food manufacturing, and the ability to maintain production efficiency while meeting quality and safety standards. Responsibilities Set up, operate, and troubleshoot Horizontal and Vertical Hayssen packaging machines. Perform machine changeovers, adjustments, and preventative maintenance. Operate and monitor multiple pieces of high-speed packaging equipment. Calibrate and operate Mettler Toledo scale systems. Conduct pre-operational inspections to ensure equipment is production ready. Monitor product quality throughout production and make necessary adjustments. Read and follow production schedules, work orders, and operating procedures. Complete production documentation and machine logs accurately. Maintain GMP, food safety, sanitation, and housekeeping standards. Work collaboratively with production, quality, and maintenance teams to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime. Qualifications 2–4 years of experience operating Horizontal and Vertical Hayssen packaging machines is required. Experience with high-speed packaging equipment in a food manufacturing environment. Experience with Mettler Toledo scale systems preferred. Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Ability to perform machine setups, changeovers, and minor mechanical adjustments. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment. Knowledge of GMP and food safety standards. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for the duration of the shift. Frequently, use hands to operate machinery and equipment. Bend, kneel, squat, reach, twist, and climb as needed.
