The company manufactures lightweight and cost-effective metal composites such as aerospace nozzles, rocket motor cases, and more with a focus on innovation and technical precision, Role DescriptionThis is a full-time, on-site position for a Supplier Quality Engineer located in Auburn, AL. The role involves evaluating and managing supplier performance, ensuring compliance with quality standards, and maintaining supplier quality management systems. Tasks include conducting supplier audits, monitoring quality metrics, implementing corrective actions, and collaborating with suppliers to achieve product quality objectives.Responsibility·       Develop, implement, and maintain supplier quality assurance protocols, standards, and procedures.·       Support managing new project introductions with online customer meetings, ensuring compliance with quality standards and flow down of customer requirements to suppliers·       Supports operators in quality inspections & determining characteristics to be inspected including development of in-process inspection sheets & creation and maintenance of process books. ·       Preview and review drawings for developing measurement strategies and potential measurement/CMM programming concerns.·       Demonstrates working knowledge of GD&T Concepts and Methodologies. ·       Drive continuous improvement initiatives within Winkelmann and at suppliers using tools such as Six Sigma, Lean, and statistical analysis.·       Coordinate, conduct supplier audits (on-site & remote) to verify compliance with quality systems (ISO 9001, AS9100, etc.).·       Perform MSA and Capability Analysis to ensure product conformance. ·       Support generation of Customer Quality Packets to satisfy compliance requirements and as needed FAI & PPAP submissions on customer portals including review of supplier submitted FAIs/PPAPs.·       Monitor supplier performance using KPIs & lead RCCA for supplier quality issues·       Perform quality testing, training on new work instructions as needed.·       Train and mentor junior quality specialists, engineers, technicians and production inspectors.·       Follow all safety guidelines and standards for equipment and facility·       Maintains an organized, clean and safe work environment·       Performs other tasks and supports other production stations as needed or assigned by your supervisorQualifications:·       Bachelor’s degree in engineering, quality, or a related field.·       2-5 years of experience in Quality Engineering or a related field, preferably in a manufacturing or regulated environment·       Strong knowledge of quality systems and standards (e.g., ISO, AS, etc.).·       Proficiency in quality tools and methodologies (e.g., SPC, MSA, PPAP, FMEA, 8D, etc.).·       Certifications such as CQE (Certified Quality Engineer), Six Sigma Black/Green Belt is a plus.·       Excellent problem-solving, analytical, root-cause analysis, communication, and project management skills·       Ability to think strategically and work independently; fast learner and an excellent communicator·       Ability to read metric drawings and GD&T as required·       Willingness to travel to supplier locations as required up to 30%
