Manager, Engineering

Stryker is seeking an engineering leader to manage an engineering team that provides direct support to the Stryker Mahwah business and works closely with the Development and New Product Introduction teams. The Engineering Manager will provide technical leadership to the operations team, with a strong focus on developing engineering competencies, driving best practices, and improving the efficiency and cost effectiveness of production processes. The role will also support medium and long term operations strategies to ensure strong operational performance. This is an onsite position in Mahwah, NJ.What You Will Do-Responsible and accountable for the development of the best engineering strategy to deliver the Operational objectives of the Mahwah businessWork in harmony with the Operations manager, Advanced Operations and Quality leaders to provide leadership and a consistent focus on product and process qualityLead a team of assigned engineers and other functional professionals to deliver specific project objectives which support the operations strategyDevelop and complete IDP’s and performance reviews with assigned engineers to provide structured development opportunities to improve performance and engagementLiaise with other function leaders where appropriate to ensure the engineering teams comply with and support cross functional best practice in GMP’s, GDP’s, Finance Processes, Compliance Initiatives and EHS RequirementsEngage and participate in supporting the delivery of the BU’s KPI’s by continuously improving the performance of the business by providing technical solutions to operational issuesSupport all capital acquisition activity from specifying equipment, contract negotiation, Installation and validation as requiredDeliver process development and cost reduction activities on specific projects that you and your team are assignedWhat You Need -Bachelor's Degree in Engineering required8+ years of relevant engineering experience requiredPrevious leadership/ people management experience requiredExperience working in a CNC machining environmentProven experience in Lean Tools/Methodology, highly preferredExperience applying Lean tools and methodologies, highly preferredExperience with GD&T, highly preferred$141,600 - $236,000 USD AnnualHealth benefits include: Medical and prescription drug insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, critical illness insurance, accident insurance, hospital indemnity insurance, personalized healthcare support, wellbeing program and tobacco cessation program.
