This position has additional responsibilities related to data analysis, project management, and proactive root cause resolution.Key job responsibilitiesManage settlement schedules in Workday and issue offcycle payments when necessaryUtilize a variety of software/systems to research, review, and correct payment issuesAbility to leverage approved AI applications to automate processes where possible and analyze AP related dataUtilize multiple bank platforms to release wire payments and perform other AP related functionsFiscal period closing duties such as GL account reconciliationReview of AP aging and open invoicesUnderstanding of SOX, GAAP, and general ledger accountingAssist with the 1099 filing processPrepare and maintain standard operating documentation for all tasksAbility to conduct software testing for payments in lower test environments as needed and effectively communicate with our product and tech business partnersAbility to own and drive special projectsData collection and analysis: ability to retrieve data from multiple sources and effectively analyze to present findings to internal and external business partnersProactively troubleshoot complex payment issues, taking ownership from identification through resolutionNavigate change and uncertainty with confidence, collaborating across Amazon and Whole Foods Market systems and teamsPerform other related duties as assignedBasic Qualifications2+ years of Accounts Payable (AP) experience1+ years of finance experienceKnowledge of standard software including Excel, Access, Oracle, Essbase, SQL and VBA skillsExperience using data to influence business decisionsBachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics or a highly analytical field (e.g., Engineering, Math, and Computer Science)Knowledge of finance, accounting or related field focused on analyticsPreferred Qualifications* Experience demonstrating problem solving and root cause analysis* Experience with Workday FinancialsAmazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status.Our inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
