Job descriptionJob Title: Mainframe Developer – COBOL/CICS (Automotive Finance)Location: Torrance, CA (Hybrid - 4 days)Employment Type: Contract to HirePlease reshare the profiles which were not interviewed last time, the role has reopened.Job Description:We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Developer with strong expertise in COBOL/CICS, DB2, JCL, and MQ, along with domain experience in Automotive Finance. The role involves application development, production support, and performance optimization across multiple enterprise-level systems.Key Responsibilities:Provide application development and production support for large-scale mainframe applicationsTroubleshoot and resolve production issues, including batch and online abendsAnalyze and optimize daily/monthly batch processes to improve efficiency and reduce processing windowsPerform impact analysis across multiple systems and platformsDeliver technical design, development, and estimation documentationParticipate in on-call support for batch processes during off-hoursRequired Skills:Strong hands-on experience with:COBOLCICSDB2JCLIBM MQExperience in mainframe development + production support environmentStrong troubleshooting/debugging skills for batch and online systemsFamiliarity with unit testing practicesPreferred Skills:Experience in Automotive Finance industryExposure to FIS Systematics (A plus but not Mandatory)Soft Skills:Strong communication and collaboration skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced production environmentInterpersonal style aligned with client cultureSkillsMandatory Skills : .Net Core, MicroservicesGood to Have Skills : GitHub Co-Pilot, JSON, Prompt Engineering
