Design Phase Engineer I

SUMMARYMortenson is currently seeking an experienced Design Phase Engineer I that will provide support to project leadership during the design phase as it relates to customer experience, financial performance, scheduling, estimating, design and planning resulting in a smooth transition to construction operations. This role will focus on stormwater issues and plans.RESPONSIBILITIESSupport the project team in achieving scope and budget alignment, schedule alignment, an integrated team experience, construction readiness, and excellent financial performanceAssist with establishing and managing project budget and scope expectations, budget trending logs, and any associated communications and resourcesCreate and manage project schedules and key milestones, hold team members accountable for reaching set milestonesAssist in regulatory approval and permitting processAssist in the preparation of bid packages and contract manualsSupport bid analysis and subcontractor selectionIdentify technical design and specification concerns, escalate as needed to achieve resolutionParticipate in and contribute to project planning and environmental risk analysisEvaluate and offer solutions for environmental risksMaintain operational knowledge of environmental issues in construction, US EPA, ASTM, and otherapplicable standards, regulations, laws, and proceduresServe as resource for environmental issues or concernQUALIFICATIONSBachelor's degree in Construction, Civil, or Architectural Engineering, Construction Management, Estimating, or equivalent fieldMinimum of two year's relevant experienceIntermediate level knowledge of Microsoft Office, Project, and pertinent web application skillsAbility to travel up to 100%Preferred Qualifications:Experience with stormwater issues and plans is highly desiredA few benefits offered include:(for Non-Craft & Non-Union Craft working 25+ hours / week)Medical and prescription drug plans that includes no additional cost vision coverageDental plan401k retirement plan with a generous Mortenson matchPaid time off, holidays, and other paid leavesEmployer paid Life, AD&D, and disability insuranceNo-Cost mental health tool and concierge with extensive work-life resourcesTuition reimbursementAdoption AssistanceGym Membership Discount ProgramThe base pay range for this role is $84,100 MIN - $113,500 MAX. (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL – 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR – 10%, Washington, D.C. – 12.5%).Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual's knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity. This position is eligible for Mortenson's incentive plan.
