As Senior Packaging Engineer your will, be responsible:
Design packaging solutions while utilizing Nefab products and/or sourced materials
To demonstrate Experience in the semiconductor/electronics industry, knowledge on semiconductor/electronics packaging, ESD -and cleanroom requirements
Manage design specifications and approval of outsourced design
Assist with providing packaging technical expertise
Assess structural requirements, method of transport, long term storage and other specifications
Assist with packaging evaluations and designs of other engineers or designers and other departments.
Assist with the gathering of sufficient information to enable drawings
Create CAD drawings, assembly instructions and material lists
Assist managers perform special engineering project assignments
Assist in understanding material specifications and possible replacement materials as needed
Visit customers with sales personnel to review technical aspects of customer requirements
Ensures a solution is delivered within the given parameters; on time, construction demands, and packaging budget
Visit suppliers as needed and requested by Sourcing
Lead other engineers in projects and Supervise and mentor junior engineers including onboarding
This position is located in Newark, CA, and you will report to Engineering Manager.
Your profile
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering equivalent in experience and education
Project Management Certification considered an asset
5-year experience working with CAD programs
Experience in the semiconductor/electronics industry, knowledge on semiconductor/electronics packaging, ESD - and cleanroom requirements
Experience designing with steel, wood, corrugate, foam and/or other traded materials is considered an asset, but not required
Proven ability to coordinate tasks of multiple engineers
Proven ability to effectively present information and respond to questions in varied environments
