Job DescriptionAmerican Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN LDRP - Labor Delivery Recovery & Postpartum for a travel nursing job in Nampa, Idaho.Job Description & RequirementsSpecialty: LDRP - Labor Delivery Recovery & PostpartumDiscipline: RNStart Date: 06/08/2026Duration: 13 weeks36 hours per weekShift: 12 hours, nightsEmployment Type: TravelAssignment OverviewShift: Nights, 3x12hrsHours: 36 hrs/wkStart Date: Jun 8, 2026Length: 13 weeksOpenings: 2DescriptionAmerican Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an LDRP (Labor & Delivery/Postpartum) position requiring at least 3 years of L&D experience, NRP and STABLE certifications, and the ability to circulate C-sections and provide couplet care on night shifts.DetailsWork in a 14-bed LDRP unit within an acute care hospital setting, where patients remain in the same room throughout their stayUnit includes 2 OR suites for C-sections (RNs circulate and scrub) and 4 triage beds staffed by travelersPatient population includes 32+ week gestation patients, HTN patients on magnesium, BACs, TOLACs, gestational diabetes, and some antepartum patients — placenta previa and placenta accreta are not managed on this unitUnit serves a diverse community with a high volume of home birth transfers seeking medical intervention and pain managementUnit averages approximately 90 births per month (1,200/year)Staffing follows AWHONN standards: 1:1 labor (2:1 for cervical ripening patients), 1:3 postpartum couplet care, and 1:3 triage (resource nurse activated at 4 triage patients)RNs are required to titrate drips including Pitocin, Magnesium, and occasional Insulin protocolsNICU is embedded within 7 of the LDRP rooms, creating a unique care modelEMR is Epic (Centricity used for EFM monitoring)Night shift: 7p–7a, 12-hour shiftsWeekend requirements are based on unit needs with no set minimumTravelers are first to float; floating is within the St. Luke's Treasure Valley system (Meridian, Nampa, Boise) in primary skill set (L&D, postpartum, or antepartum) or as a sitterNo on-call or standby requirement13-week contractRequirementsActive Idaho RN license or compact RN license required (must be active and in hand — pending licenses not accepted)Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and STABLEMinimum 3 years of L&D experience requiredMother-baby (postpartum couplet care) experience required; 1 year preferredMust be proficient in attending vaginal deliveries, completing the first hour of newborn care, triage, circulating C-sections, and providing postpartum couplet careExperience with magnesium administration requiredAbility to titrate drips (Pitocin, Magnesium, Insulin) requiredCharge nurse experience preferredEpic EMR experience preferredValid driver's license required2 professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, both including dates of employment and eligibility for rehireCandidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this positionAdditional InformationResponsibilities include attending deliveries, newborn stabilization and physical assessment within the first 2 hours, triage, circulating C-sections, and providing postpartum couplet careEach shift is supported by a charge RN (no patient assignment), a resource RN, an OB hospitalist 24/7, a neonatal NP 24/7, anesthesia in-house 24/7, 1 CST per shift, and a CNA (may be reassigned to HUC duties if needed)Orientation consists of 4 unit-specific shifts covering C-section, labor, and postpartum; Epic Curio and compliance assignments must be completed prior to startHospital-issued scrubs are required and must be changed into and out of at the beginning and end of each shift; scrub colors may vary at float sitesNo fingernail lacquer, acrylic nails, or gel nails are permitted due to the embedded NICU modelBlock scheduling is not available; travelers fill scheduling gaps around core staff, with scheduling preferences considered after the first schedule cycleHoliday coverage may be required based on unit needs during the contract periodFormer permanent employees of this health system must have been separated for at least one year before being eligible for a travel assignmentTravel duos must have separate vehicles, as floating to different sites during a shift is possibleFirst-time travelers are welcome to applyAmerican Traveler Job ID #P-705230.
