Working under close supervision, this role focuses on developing foundational machining skills, maintaining safety and quality standards, and learning advanced CNC processes in a high-volume manufacturing environment.Key ResponsibilitiesOperate CNC machining equipment following established procedures, work instructions, and safety standards.Load and unload raw materials and finished components from CNC machines.Assist with machine set-up, tooling changes, offsets, and basic program adjustments under supervision.Monitor machine operations to ensure dimensional accuracy, surface quality, and completeness of workpieces.Use precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other inspection tools to verify product specifications.Read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and basic GD&T requirements.Identify tooling wear or operational issues and notify lead personnel or supervisors as needed.Perform housekeeping, cleaning, and preventive maintenance activities to maintain an organized and safe work environment.Complete required production, quality, and operational documentation accurately.Support continuous improvement initiatives and participate in team-based problem-solving activities.Assist with training activities and demonstrate willingness to learn advanced machining processes.Follow all company safety, quality, and environmental policies and procedures.Perform additional duties as assigned by supervision.Minimum Qualifications2 – 4-year technical school, apprenticeship, or vocational machining certification.2 - 4 years of CNC machining or manufacturing experience.Basic understanding of machining concepts, tooling, and CNC equipment.Ability to read and understand blueprints, work instructions, and basic measuring requirements.Basic math skills and mechanical aptitude.Experience using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges preferred.Willingness to learn CNC programming concepts, tooling offsets, and machine set-ups.Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented manufacturing environment.Preferred QualificationsExposure to CNC lathes, mills, grinding, balancing, drilling, tapping, or related machining processes.Familiarity with GD&T concepts.Experience in automotive or powertrain manufacturing environments.Siemens 840D experience is a plus.Understanding of crankshaft manufacturing processes preferred.Physical RequirementsAbility to stand for extended periods during scheduled shifts.Ability to bend, stoop, reach, grip, and lift up to 50 lbs. on a repetitive basis.Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to machine noise, moving equipment, and industrial fluids.
