Hughes Company, Inc. team!Position OverviewWe are seeking a highly motivated professional for a hybrid role that combines consultative industrial sales with onsite SupplySight service and vendor managed inventory program support. This role is intentionally designed to spend 50% of your time selling and 50% servicing our most important program accounts.The individual will manage a small but strategically important book of business where they will serve as the primary sales contact responsible for developing relationships, identifying growth opportunities, and expanding product penetration across key industrial categories.In parallel, this role will support and optimize SupplySight vendor-managed inventory programs at customer facilities. The representative will ensure operational excellence, product availability, and continuous improvement of the inventory program while identifying opportunities to expand the scope of service and drive incremental revenue.This role offers a unique opportunity to experience both the sales and service sides of the business. By working closely with customers and internal teams, the individual builds a versatile skill set that supports long-term career growth at R.S. Hughes, including opportunities in Field Sales, SupplySight Service, Operations, or other functions across the organization.Key Split Responsibilities Outside Sales Responsibilities The SupplySight Field Service Representative will serve as the primary commercial contact for a small portfolio of assigned accounts and will be responsible for driving profitable growth within those relationships.Key Responsibilities IncludeDevelop and maintain strong relationships with decision makers and key stakeholders within assigned accountsIdentify and pursue new revenue opportunities within existing customers including competitive conversions, new applications, and expanded product categoriesSell consultative solutions across core industrial categories including adhesives, tapes, abrasives, safety products, labels, and MRO suppliesExecute account growth strategies focused on wallet share expansion and program adoptionPrepare and deliver product recommendations, technical solutions, and commercial proposalsManage opportunity pipeline activity within CRM to ensure visibility, forecasting accuracy, and disciplined opportunity follow upCollaborate closely with internal teams including Sales Support, Supply Chain, Customer Care, and Vendor Specialists to deliver a seamless customer experiencePartner with strategic vendors to introduce new technologies and product innovations that improve customer productivity and reduce total costConduct regular business reviews with assigned accounts to identify growth opportunities and reinforce value delivered through R.S. Hughes programsMaintain awareness of market trends, competitive positioning, and emerging technologies within core product categoriesMeet or exceed established revenue and gross profit growth expectations for assigned accountsSupplySight Program Service ResponsibilitiesThe representative will also serve as the operational lead supporting SupplySight vendor managed inventory programs within assigned customer facilities.Key Responsibilities IncludeMaintain and service on site SupplySight inventory programs to ensure optimal stock levels and product availability for customer operationsBuild strong working relationships with customer personnel to ensure the program continues to deliver operational valueIdentify opportunities to expand product assortment, increase SKU adoption, and introduce new product categories within the SupplySight programMaintain accurate inventory levels through regular replenishment, cycle counts, and inventory analysisInvestigate and resolve inventory variances and implement corrective actions to improve program accuracyMonitor inventory consumption trends and supply chain timing to proactively identify potential inventory gapsMaintain accurate reporting and dashboards that track inventory levels, usage trends, and replenishment timingEnsure all inventory is stored and maintained in accordance with company policies related to labeling, storage, packaging, and handling requirementsSupport installation, maintenance, and optimization of SupplySight program equipment at customer facilitiesParticipate in customer business reviews and provide program performance insights that support program expansion and long-term growthPartner with the assigned Outside Sales Representative and internal operations teams to ensure consistent communication and alignment on customer opportunitiesOperate a company vehicle while servicing inventory programs and delivering replenishment materialsMaintain a safe and organized work environment while servicing customer facilitiesQualificationsTwo to five years of experience in industrial sales, supply chain operations, vendor managed inventory programs, or related customer facing rolesExperience selling or supporting industrial product categories such as adhesives, tapes, abrasives, safety products, tooling, or MRO supplies preferredDemonstrated ability to build relationships and grow customer accountsExperience with vendor managed inventory programs or industrial supply chain environments preferredStrong communication and problem-solving skillsAbility to balance commercial responsibilities with operational executionProficiency with CRM systems, ERP platforms, and Microsoft Office applicationsSelf-starter with strong time management and organizational skillsValid driver license with ability to travel locally to customer sitesWork Environment And Physical RequirementsThis position operates primarily in customer facilities and industrial environments with regular field travelRegular standing, walking, and movement within manufacturing or warehouse environmentsOccasional lifting of materials or inventory up to 30 poundsUse of a company vehicle to travel between customer locationsEducation and LicensingHigh School Diploma requiredBachelor's degree preferredValid state issued driver license requiredOne year of B2B sales, operations, or industrial supply experience preferredSkills That Will Drive SuccessStrong relationship building and customer engagement skillsResults oriented mindset with focus on revenue growth and customer valueAttention to detail and operational disciplineStrong problem solving and analytical abilityAbility to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross functional teamsEntrepreneurial mindset focused on identifying new opportunities within existing accountsBasic Excel and data analysis capabilityAbility to learn and effectively use company ERP and web based platformsCompensation And BenefitsOur merit-based salary/bonus program offers exceptional growth opportunities.
