Sr. Mechanical Engineer

MS Technology, Inc. is seeking a Sr. Mechanical Engineer to support our client in Oak Ridge, TN.Summary:This role utilizes parametric 3D modeling tools such as CREO or SolidWorks. The Sr. Mechanical Engineer will support scopes of work associated with components, assemblies, and machines within the project, providing technical expertise to help achieve program goals and objectives while ensuring compliance with established standards and practices.Responsibilities:Assist in leading, designing, building, and troubleshooting the following Plant expansion activitiesLarge scale heating and cooling systemsHigh vacuum systemsFiltration systemsHelium leak detection equipmentComposite parts and assembliesMachined parts and assembliesAssist in design and analysis of structural and dynamic systemsDesign manufacturing equipment as needed for manufacturing activitiesDevelop specifications for fabrication materials and equipmentAssist in the creation, review, and approval of engineering packages to be used for fabricationEstablish procedures for assembly and repair of fabricated componentsDrive process improvement activities for internal activities and external suppliersManage multiple priorities and ensure that deliverables are met within schedule and budgetAdheres to company policies and procedures with regards to safety, code of conduct, security, and environmental program requirementsContribute to cross functional teams including design, engineering, manufacturing, operations, testing, quality and purchasingEducation/Experience: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.8+ years of experience in a professional environment.A Master's degree may be used to substitute for 2 years of experience.Preferred Qualifications: Preference will be given to applicants currently holding an active DOE Q-level or DOD TS security clearanceProject Management experienceExperience with lean manufacturingMaster's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace EngineeringExperience with parametric 3D modeling tools such as CREO or SolidWorksExperience using FEA (SolidWorks experience is a plus)Experience with QL-1 or QL-2 quality parts/systemsBenefits:All eligible employees enjoy an excellent benefits package, including medical/dental/vision insurance, short/long-term disability, life insurance, 401(k), paid time off including holidays, and tuition reimbursement.EEO Statement:MSTI is an equal-opportunity employer.
