ROLEWe are seeking an experienced Civil Litigation Paralegalto support the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Western District of Kentucky (USAO WDKY). Your scope of work focuses on providing comprehensive litigation support, including electronic discovery, document review, and case preparation.This is a full-time opportunity in which we’ll provide competitive pay, comprehensive benefits, and job stability and security.Apply today!ResponsibilitiesResearch and analyze case law, statutes, legislative intent, judicial precedents, etcPerform litigation support tasks with a particular emphasis on tasks for ACE (Affirmative Civil Enforcement) mattersUse automated legal research tools (e.g., Westlaw, West Next, Lexis, and public information databases)Assist with managing discovery and data (e.g., assembling documents responsive to discovery requests, etc.)Help draft and issue subpoenas and civil investigatory demandsContribute to pretrial preparations (i.e., scheduling, reviewing, and organizing the assembly of evidence)Aid in the preparation of legal material and documents (i.e., exhibits, discovery, voluminous records)Organize documents for efficient automated storage and retrieval (e.g., scanning documents, preparing indices) Assist in the preparation of computerized pretrial and trial presentationsDevelop general office presentations using various computer hardwareUse litigation support programs (e.g., Sanction, Concordance, and PowerPoint)Employ tools for efficient data management (e.g., CaseMap, TimeMap, Access, and Excel)Use Microsoft Word and Outlook for document creation and communicationReview a wide variety of documents, including legal and non-legal documents, motions, briefs, and correspondenceWork with other office members to use NetDocs and NetDocs protocols for ACE casesConduct electronic discovery tasks (e.g., processing and exporting electronic files to various formats)Modify and manipulate files for use with Commercial off the Shelf (COTS) Define data file search criteria, import data into COTS products, and update databasesEnsure high-quality, timely, and cost-effective methods are followed through procedures established by the USAOPerform quality assurance of all electronic file processing servicesEnsure that incoming discovery productions and exports for productions meet applicable ESI specificationsProvide helpdesk support in all litigation support software applications when neededProvide training to users as necessary to enable them to utilize litigation support applicationsBACKGROUND4 years of exp. in administrative, professional, investigative, technical, or other work related to fields Proficient in Microsoft Office software programs (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook)Knowledge of NetDocs, eScanit, Eclipse, LAW, IPRO Suite, Relativity, and CaseMap suite (preferred)Knowledge of computer systems, databases, litigation discovery process, and the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM) workflowExcellent written and oral communication skillsProblem-solving skillsCustomer-orientedEDUCATIONBachelor’s Degree required1 year of exp. performing electronic discovery roles LOCATIONLouisville, KY 40202TELEWORKN/ACLEARANCEU.S. citizenship required since this role supports the U.S. federal governmentCLIENTDepartment of Justice (DOJ)TRAVELTravel may be requiredWORK HOURS40 hours per week8 hours per dayEMPLOYMENT CLASSIFICATIONEmployment Classification Eligibility — NonexemptRELOCATIONNot eligible for relocation benefitsKMRG, LLC is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action (EEO/AA) employer.
