It's a chance to build the next generation of MX's platform thoughtfully, reliably, and with long-term impact in mind.If you thrive in complex systems, care deeply about uptime and reliability, and want your work to directly power the financial well-being of millions, this is where you'll do the most meaningful work of your career.What You'll DoDrive Cloud Migration: Drive the end-to-end migration of production workloads from on-premise data centers to AWS.Architect for Reliability: Design and implement production-grade Kubernetes environments and AWS architectures that prioritize 99.99+% availability.Operational Excellence: Improve incident triage and Mean Time to Recovery (MTTR) by implementing cloud-aware diagnostics and automated recovery patterns.Empower Developers: Reduce friction in the development lifecycle by optimizing platform response times and ensuring reliable, repeatable deployment events.Platform Standards, Security, and Governance: Embed security and compliance controls directly into platform abstractions (policy-as-code, identity, networking) and partner with security and compliance teams to meet regulatory requirements by design.Mentor and Standardize: Build patterns and shared tooling that allow the broader engineering teams to operate confidently in the cloud without external reliance.12-Month Definition of SuccessWithin 12 months, you will have demonstrably delivered:Cloud Migration ExecutionSuccessful migration of production workloads to AWSPrevented customer-impacting regressions attributable to platform designClear, documented AWS architectures and operational runbooksReliability & OperationsSustained 99.99%+ availability during and after migrationImproved incident triage and MTTR through cloud-aware diagnosticsProduction-grade Kubernetes operations in AWSTeam UpliftPlatform team operating independently and confidently in AWSShared standards, tooling, and golden paths adopted across teamsReduced reliance on external consultants or reactive firefightingMore reliable deployments and fewer rollback eventsClear reduction in developer-reported friction related to infrastructureBasic Qualifications10+ total years of experience in a developer, devops, SRE, or cloud role5+ years of AWS experience (on-prem to AWS migration experience would be critical)5+ years Kubernetes and microservices operations experience at scaleExceptional incident triage and debugging skills in high-pressure environmentsStrong experience with infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD, and observability toolingPreferred QualificationsProficiency in Golang, Ruby, Java, or similar systems programming languagesExperience building developer platforms or internal tooling, or cloud enablement frameworksFamiliarity with Backstage, Crossplane, Argo, Terraform, policy-as-code frameworks, or similar platform toolingFamiliarity with SRE practices, SLIs/SLOs, chaos engineering, and reliability engineering frameworksOur Utah office features onsite perks such as company-paid meals, massage therapists, a sports simulator, gym, mother's lounge, and meditation room, and meaningful interactions with amazing people.
