Job PostingSecurity Guard 1Position Title: Security Guard ILocation: Denton, TXReports To: Area SupervisorShift: 1st shift Pay Grade – DH03Posting Closing Date – until filledJob Summary: The security guard is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for all employees, vendors, and visitors on the company premises as well as overseeing and protecting company assets.Job Specifications:Monitors and secures entrance and exit points including dock areasAuthorize entrance of people and vehiclesEnsure all employees and visitors have proper credentials for accessing buildings (ID badges and passes)Operates X-ray, body imaging scanner and metal detecting equipmentInspects all employees and visitors to be sure proper identification is visible and following the jewelry and metal policyMonitors CCTV video surveillance camerasMonitors door alarmsAnswer incoming phone calls and use of a paging systemComplete incident reports and required documentation for all security incidentsEnforce established security policiesReport non-routine or suspicious activities to managementRespond to emergencies and incidents within designated areas promptly and according to policyTrained in First AidAssume overall responsibility for the safety and security of designated areasPatrol designated areas in accordance with outlined security proceduresIdentify potential security risks and respond accordinglyAssist employees and visitors with any concerns they might haveEscalate emergency situations to law enforcement as neededJob Requirements:Previous security-related work experience > 1 Year requiredHigh School Diploma or GED requiredExcellent communication and customer serviceAbility to stay levelheaded and respond quickly in stressful situationsProficient written and oral communication skillsComfortable kneeling, carrying, bending, walking, and standing for extended periods of timeWorking knowledge of basic security techniquesMust be available to work overtime including Saturdays as requiredBe able to lift up to 50 lbsIndividuals interested in this position must be able to meet the requirements outlined in this job posting.
