Director of Inventory Planning

Position Overview:We are seeking a strategic and hands-on Director of Inventory Planning to lead our Target Inventory Analyst team while directly supporting key client accounts. This role combines people leadership, operational excellence, and deep retail supply chain expertise to ensure best-in-class service delivery and measurable results for our clients.The Director will establish and standardize best practices across accounts, develop team capabilities, and serve as a senior advisor to both clients and retailer partners. In addition to leading the team, this individual will manage select high-priority businesses as an Inventory Analyst, providing advanced forecasting, replenishment strategy, and data-driven insights. This role is critical to maximizing in-stock performance, inventory efficiency, and sales growth while strengthening long-term client relationships.Key Responsibilities: Lead, coach, and develop a team of Inventory Analysts, establishing clear performance expectations and fostering a high-performing, collaborative cultureDefine and implement standardized processes, tools, and best practices to ensure consistent, high-quality service across all client accountsServe as a senior escalation point for complex inventory issues, retailer challenges, and client concernsAct as a strategic advisor to clients, providing data-driven recommendations to improve in-stock performance, inventory efficiency, and sales growthDirectly manage select key accounts, delivering advanced forecasting, replenishment planning, and inventory optimizationMonitor business performance against forecasts and plans, identifying risks and opportunities and driving corrective actionsBuild and maintain strong relationships with client stakeholders, retailer partners, and internal cross-functional teamsDrive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance team efficiency, analytical rigor, and overall client impactQualifications:5+ years of retail, supply chain, replenishment, or demand planning experience supporting major retailers; Target experience strongly preferred2+ years of people leadership experience preferredDeep knowledge of inventory management principles, forecasting, and retail operationsExperience supporting major retailers (Target experience strongly preferred)Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and manage complex client relationshipsExceptional analytical skills with proficiency in Excel; experience with Power BI and Partners Online systems aplusStrong communication and presentation skills with the ability to simplify complexdataDemonstrated ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on executionHighly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
