Engineering Technician
JOB TITLE: ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN JOB LOCATION: GREENVILLE, SC WAGE RANGE*: 24.00-27.00 PER HOUR JOB NUMBER: SAIJP00038661 REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: • High School diploma required; Associates degree in Engineering Technology or related field is preferred; less than 2 years of relevant distribution experience • Ability to perform both office work and field work, which includes outdoor environments • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) • Ability to utilize personal vehicle (Some job related travel may be anticipated, and will be reimbursed at IRS approved rates) JOB DESCRIPTION Engineering Aide Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: • Interact with other electric utility disciplines, playing a valuable part in performing field inspections, engineering design work and calculations. • Coordinate with permit agencies, right-of-way specialists, system owners, field leaders, forestry leaders, and 3rd party owners for joint-owned poles. • Provide engineering support during construction, including post-construction reviews to ensure all applicable engineering and construction standards have been met. • Conduct root cause analysis of outages and mitigation using engineering principles and design. • Assisting with hiring and on on-board process of new employees. • Setup and Creation of New work in Client and Clients Work Management Systems. • Assisting engineering and project managers with Project Analysis • Assisting the Engineering Manager and Section Director with local administration tasks Equal opportunity employer as to all protected groups, including protected veterans and individuals with disabilities * While an hourly range is posted for this position, an eventual hourly rate is determined by a comprehensive salary analysis which considers multiple factors including but not limited to: job-related knowledge, skills and qualifications, education and experience as compared to others in the organization doing substantially similar work, if applicable, and market and business considerations.
