Medical Assistant (MA) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – OncologyLocation: Gig Harbor, WASchedule: Monday – Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM or 8:30 AM – 5:00 PMPay Range: $22.00 – $28.00 per hour (DOE)Position OverviewOur Oncology Clinic in Gig Harbor is expanding! With the recent addition of a new Oncologist and the introduction of Bone Marrow Biopsy services, we are looking for a Medical Assistant (or LPN) to join our clinical team.This role is primarily focused on back-office clinical support in a high-volume specialty setting. You will work 1:1 with a provider, ensuring that patient flow remains smooth and that our patients receive compassionate, efficient care. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment but remains a calm, grounding presence for patients navigating an oncology diagnosis.Benefits & Contract DetailsThis is a contract-to-hire opportunity. After the initial 520-hour (approx. 3 months) contract period, there is an opportunity to convert to a permanent hire based on performance.Weekly PayMedical, Dental, and Vision plans401(k) Retirement PlanShort-Term Disability & Life InsurancePaid Sick TimeKey ResponsibilitiesManage high-volume patient flow (up to 30 patients/shift); escort patients to exam rooms, capture vitals, and maintain an organized schedule.Conduct thorough medication reviews and basic assessments, communicating any anomalies or concerns immediately to the provider.Maintain accurate, real-time records within Epic (or similar EMR systems).Assist with clinical tasks related to oncology visits, including preparations for bone marrow biopsies and processing injection orders.Act as a bridge between the provider and the infusion side of the clinic; schedule and confirm follow-up appointments to ensure continuity of care.Sanitize rooms after each visit, restock supplies, and provide general operational support to the clinical team.The Ideal CandidateAbility to stay composed and professional during emotionally heavy patient interactions and sensitive conversations.A team player who is "coachable," responds well to feedback, and follows leadership direction to maintain a friction-free environment.Someone who takes ownership of their 1:1 provider relationship and shows up ready to support the team.Comfortable in a fast-paced setting that requires multitasking without becoming chaotic.RequirementsActive CMA Certification through the Washington State DOH OR an active LPN license.Previous experience in a fast-paced clinical setting; Oncology or Specialty experience is highly preferred.Proficiency with Epic EMR is not required, but a significant plus.A proven track record of reliability and stability in previous roles.
