We are looking for a GCP Cloud Data Platform Architect with strong experience in enterprise data modernization and AI-driven development to help clients build a modern GCP-based data platform that unifies data, governance, analytics, and intelligent application enablement. In this role, you will lead scalable cloud data architecture, modernize legacy big data and Hadoop environments to GCP, embed intelligence into platform engineering, establish governance standards, and build trusted foundations for advanced analytics and intelligent data products focused on business outcomes.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign modern GCP cloud native data platform architectures using scalable data models, lakehouse and warehouse patterns, and services such as BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Dataproc, and Pub/Sub to support analytics, reporting, and intelligent data products.Lead legacy-to-cloud modernization initiatives, provide technology consulting and architecture leadership, and define target-state GCP cloud native data platform architectures, including modernization and migration from big data Hadoop ecosystems to GCP services aligned to client business priorities.Build and govern batch and near-real-time data pipelines using GCP-native services such as Dataflow, Dataproc, Pub/Sub, BigQuery, and Composer, with patterns that support modernization from on-premises and Hadoop-based data platforms.Establish governance, security, lineage, and data quality controls using GCP-native capabilities and enterprise governance standards, while partnering with client stakeholders to drive measurable business outcomes, platform adoption, and modernization success.Drive AI-driven development on GCP by building model-ready data foundations, semantic data structures, vector-ready pipelines, and intelligent data patterns that accelerate analytics, automation, and modern data use cases.Lead production-grade AI-driven implementations using Python, PyTorch, and GCP-native data and AI services, while managing client stakeholder alignment, enabling executive-level communication, and ensuring delivery focuses on scalable business outcomes across modernization programs.Own service delivery across GCP data modernization engagements by driving execution governance, delivery quality, risk management, stakeholder communication, and outcome-based milestones for Hadoop-to-GCP transformation programs.Define and implement security guardrails, access controls, and evaluation and review frameworks to support responsible, measurable, and production-ready AI-driven development on GCP across client engagements.What We’re Looking ForBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.10+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or enterprise data platform design.Hands-on expertise in GCP cloud native data platform technologies, including BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Dataproc, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, SQL, Python, and related cloud-native data engineering and AI capabilities.Strong experience in data modernization, migration, governance, performance optimization, and enterprise architecture for client-facing delivery, including transformation from big data Hadoop platforms to GCP cloud native data platforms.Proven experience enabling AI-driven development, ML workflows, and model lifecycle management on cloud data platforms, including production implementations with security guardrails and evaluation and review frameworks.Excellent stakeholder communication and cross-functional leadership skills.Nice to HaveMaster’s degree or advanced certification in data, cloud, AI, or intelligent platform engineering disciplines.Experience with GCP cloud native data platforms in large enterprise environments, including modernization of Hadoop, Hive, Spark, and distributed data processing ecosystems.Knowledge of semantic data patterns, GCP governance and security capabilities, intelligent application architectures, and frameworks for guardrails, response quality evaluation, and human review.Experience with CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, observability, and DataOps/MLOps practices.If you are passionate about building modern GCP cloud native data platforms, modernizing big data Hadoop environments, and delivering secure, production-ready AI-driven innovation at scale, HCLTech would love to hear from you.Pay and BenefitsPay Range Minimum: $128,000 /AnnualPay Range Maximum: $282,000 / AnnualHCLTech is an equal opportunity employer, committed to providing equal employment opportunities to all applicants and employees regardless of race, religion, sex, color, age, national origin, pregnancy, sexual orientation, physical disability or genetic information, military or veteran status, or any other protected classification, in accordance with federal, state, and/or local law.
