Mechanical Engineer – Rugged Defence HardwareLivermore, CA (Onsite)$150,000+ Base Salary (DOE) + BenefitsI'm working with an innovative engineering organisation developing next-generation rugged hardware for demanding defence applications. They're looking for a Mechanical Engineer who enjoys taking ownership of products from concept through to testing and real-world deployment.This is a hands-on engineering role where you'll work across the full product lifecycle, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver hardware capable of operating in harsh environments.What you'll be doing:Mechanical design of rugged hardware for defence applicationsCreating 3D CAD models (SolidWorks preferred)Performing your own FEA analysisSupporting prototype builds and testingIterating designs based on test resultsWorking closely with electrical, manufacturing and systems engineering teamsWhat we're looking for:Experience designing rugged mechanical hardware within defence, aerospace or spaceStrong SolidWorks CAD capabilityPractical FEA experience with the ability to complete your own analysisExperience taking products through design, prototyping, testing and field validationBroad mechanical engineering experience rather than a narrow specialist backgroundHighly desirable:Defence ground vehicle experiencePrevious or active Security ClearanceExperience with environmental qualification testingCandidates must be eligible for Security Clearance.
