Job Title: Preschool Teacher Locations: Active Imaginations Child Development Center – St. Matthews & Lyndon Parkland Kids Academy – West Louisville About Us: At Active Imaginations Child Development Center and Parkland Kids Academy, we are preschools serving children ages 6 weeks to 5 years. Our mission is to provide a nurturing, inclusive, and developmentally rich environment where every child can thrive emotionally, socially, and academically. Using our integrated therapeutic preschool model, we embed daily behavioral and emotional support into the classroom experience for children ages 2-5, ensuring personalized care and intervention. Our curriculum combines the state-approved framework to promote kindergarten readiness and whole-child development. Position Overview: The Teacher is responsible for providing a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate environment for children aged 6 weeks to 5 years. This role emphasizes early learning, emotional development, and behavioral support aligned with our preschool model. Teachers will actively implement the Funny Daffer curriculum and work collaboratively with support staff to meet the needs of all students. Key Responsibilities: Create and maintain a structured, stimulating classroom that promotes independence, curiosity, and exploration. Foster positive, responsive relationships with children to support emotional and social growth. Model and encourage age-appropriate language development and self-regulation strategies. Conduct daily assessments and maintain detailed documentation of each child’s progress using Brightwheel. Use name-to-face recognition and active supervision at all times. Collaborate with classroom support staff to address the behavioral needs of students. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom environment in compliance with state licensing and health regulations. Build and maintain strong relationships with families, providing regular updates on their child’s development. Participate in ongoing training and professional development, including trauma-informed care and classroom management. Attend staff meetings, trainings, and center-wide events as required.
