Full Stack Python Developer
Information Systems (IS) team builds the workflow-driven applications that power production across film, TV, games, and digital content.This is a full-stack Python role on a small, senior, high-trust engineering team supporting everyone from on-set crew who need secure access to scripts, to full-time digital asset managers running complex tools all day.The team is actively expanding its core digital asset management systems to support new user groups.Design, build, and maintain full-stack web applications used across client's production pipelineWork across the stack: Python/Flask backend services, Vue front-end, SQLAlchemy/Postgres data layerBuild and maintain asynchronous task pipelines using Celery and RedisSupport search and indexing needs using SolrWork with large-scale media transfer and file management via AsperaDeploy and manage services using Docker and AWS LambdaHandle time-based media workflows: transcoding, colorspace management, playback optimizationBalance long-term legacy systems (Python has been core here for 30 years) with modern development practicesFollow the team's "Scout Rule " ethos leave code cleaner than you found itRequirements8 -10+ years of professional software development experience, with a strong, demonstrable Python backgroundHands-on expertise with some combination of: Vue, Flask, SQLAlchemy, Postgres, Redis, Solr, Celery, DockerExperience with cloud services (AWS/Lambda) and containerizationExperience with time-based media (video/audio) technical workflows is a strong plusComfortable working in a small, informal, non-hierarchical team where managers support rather than direct day-to-day workStrong communication skills and a customer-first mindset supporting both highly technical and non-technical users
