We deliver value through quality oversight, project management, compliance, and risk mitigation.Title: Safety ManagerPosition DescriptionPerform management oversight of construction activity on behalf of the client, report on contractor regulatory and contract safety compliance on multiple projects sites.Monitor compliance with all current OSHA requirements that relate to the specific construction projects.Perform daily safety reviews of work in progress in accordance with current Safety Regulations and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) as developed and updated by Owner.Monitor adherence to Owner Controlled Insurance Program (OCIP) requirements and procedures.Support to the Program Safety Manager, including but not limited to, attending any required meetings, or providing safety reports/analysis as requested.Attend construction meeting with college project team and general contractor. Leading the safety topic (toolbox), report on site observations (Observation Report) and review upcoming construction schedule for hazard preparedness.Perform ongoing construction site safety inspections and generate daily safety report for all site visits.Submit weekly Project Health Safety and Environmental Observation Report to Owner Project Manager.Perform ongoing review, for completion and accuracy, of contractor safety submittals, JHA, MOP, Fall Protection Plans, Crane Lift Plans, Excavation and Scaffold Erecting Plans, Confined Space Entry and hazard assessment of other high risk operations.Perform review of contractor submitted incident reports, participate in safety stand-downs, and prepare and submit lessons learned to Program Safety Manager.Perform and document safety orientation with contractor safety representative.Monitor adherence to zero tolerance and corrective action policy for workers found not in compliance with the Program s safety policy.Flexibility in schedule and transportation to work at multiple sites based on assigned schedule and duties throughout the greater Los Angeles area.Ability to work in fast-paced environment, establish daily work priorities, and perform oversight at multiple active construction projects.Good written and oral communication skills.Hardware/Software KnowledgeProficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint), Adobe Acrobat, and other basic software programs used in ConstructionProfessional Experience Level/Other Quali CationsTen (10) years of commercial construction experience in the US with a General ContractorFive (5) years of experience in California with a Contractor or major subcontractorTwo (2) years of experience in construction of educational projects in a campus environmentStrong experience managing field construction teams on multiple projects.Experience on demolition, renovation, and new construction building projects.Experience working on Owner Controlled Insurance Program (OCIP) programs.Hold a valid Safety Management Specialist (SMS) certificate or Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) issued by the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP) or Certified Safety Manager Construction (CSMC) certificate issued by the National Association of Safety Professionals (NASP) Current First Aid/CPR/AED Certification Experience on modernization/renovation projects involving abatement, remediation of hazardous materials, hazardous material waste removal and handling, such as asbestos and lead based paint.Strong experience working senior management and field teams on large building programs across multiple sites and locations.Experience participating in scheduled construction Meetings with Contractors and Project Managers.Strong experience in safety incident reporting and daily construction reporting for multiple projects.Ability to effectively communicate with Owner's Construction Management staff and Contractor's Site Management Team.Ability to manage, control, and report safety incidents in a timely manner in accordance with OSHA regulations and Owner's Requirements.Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat and other basic software programs used in Construction.Preferred QualificationsConstruction management, safety management, safety engineer or related degree is preferredAdditional safety/health certifications and credentials as appropriate for this positionCurrent 40-Hour HAZWOPERCurrent OSHA 500 (Trainer in Occupational Safety and Health Standards for the Construction Industry) CompensationThis role is salaried/exempt with a base annual salary range of $100,000.00 -
