Minimal domestic travel is required, possibly 10% of the time.Job DescriptionGALT Aerospace is seeking a full-time, hourly Cybersecurity Specialist to handle the following responsibilities:Collect data on current security measures for risk analysis, and write systems status reports regularlyMonitoring systems for unusual activity, analyzing security events, and identifying potential threatsResponding to security incidents, containing breaches, and investigating the root causeConduct regular risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and develop mitigation strategiesPerform security threat hunting, analysis, and response utilizing the Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tool and other Department toolsCollaborate with other members of the IT and Security teams to develop new protocols, layers of protection, and other proactive and defensive systems for remaining ahead of cybercriminalsMonitor access-related activities for authorized users, and check for unregistered information changesRequired Skills, Experience, And EducationAt least 1 year of experience in cybersecurityBasic knowledge of IT, including hardware, software, and networksFamiliarity with NIST SP800-53, SP800-37, and SP800-171oUStrong understanding of cybersecurity concepts and principlesMeticulous eye for detail and an ability to multitask in a fast-paced environmentStrong abilities in critical thinking, problem-solving, logic, and forensicsU.S. CitizenshipAbility to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DoD) personnel security clearanceStrong critical and analytical thinkingAbility to take initiative, multi-task and work well under pressurePreferred Skills, Experience And EducationBachelor's degree (or equivalent) in information systems, information technology, or related fieldCybersecurity CertificationsExperience with Kali LinuxThe ability to think like a hacker in order to stay ahead of threatsSecret Clearance preferredTeam player with a proactive attitude and the ability to be productive in a dynamic environmentAbility to work in a collaborative environmentStrong oral and written communications skillsPhysical RequirementsMust be able to carry 25 poundsMust be able to sit or stand for 1-2 hours at a timeThe person in this position needs to occasionally move about the facilityConstantly operates a computer and other office productivity machineryPay ScaleAt GALT Aerospace, base pay is one part of the total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as one grows and develops within a role.
