We're looking to optimize our efforts in safety, quality, and productivity. This involves applying automation principles and analytical techniques to advance the continuous improvement of manufacturing processes and products. You will be responsible for promoting a positive environment of culture, communication, and employee recognition.ResponsibilitiesWhat you'll do...Lead maintenance and engineering teams in scheduling, staffing, procurement and maintenance of plant-wide Facilities Department equipment and a member of the Operating CommitteeLead project writing and process of collecting and evaluating data in sound business cases.Coach, counsel and teach the team to handle and lead multi-million dollar projects.Coordinate the resources and activities of the ME organization to meet the production schedule within budgetary limitations and time constraintsParticipate in maintenance scheduling, staffing, procurement and maintenance of equipment, quality control, inventory control, and the coordination of activities with those of other departmentsAnalyze the plant's personnel and capital resources to select the best ways of meeting the production quotaMonitor the production run to make sure that it stays on schedule and correct any problems that may arise related to facility constraintsPromote and ensure constant improvement in the ME organization toward the common goal of improving product quality, plant competitiveness and total cost structureFacilitate start-up/shift to shift meetingsExperience with dock doors, wastewater treatment, civil work (ground piping, etc.), and fire systemsHelp develop targets and then deliver FPS metrics for each of the Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, People, Maintenance, and Environment operating systemsPromote and support FPS maintenance workteams/workgroupsChampion constraint analysis and coordinate activities to eliminate the bottlenecks.Establish the goal of maximizing overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) with continuous improvement of Mean Time to Repair (MTTR) and Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF) metrics to improve productivityReview/approve PM activities and ensure 100% PM completionAddress department Health and Safety concerns and drive safety measures & coordinate improvement activitiesResponsible for environmental and safety compliance, reporting out PM status for the plant, and pulling reports in MaximoStaying up to date on all OSHA and governmental safety standardsLead contractors, high-risk work, and drives behaviour and disciplineOwns and manages the budget with clear visibilityEffectively leads in a UAW environment, able to set clear expectations, and hold the team accountableDeep understanding of plant electrical distribution (substations, switchgear, transformers, and feeders)Ability to capacity plan for future state (load capacity and infrastructure limits)Understanding of PM plans for electrical assets and predictive tools such as thermography, vibration, and condition-based monitoring to prevent failuresResponsible for Arc Flash and safety compliance (understanding PPE requirements and procedures)Ensure compliance with NFPA 70E and safe Ford practicesQualificationsYou'll have...Education: Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial or Construction ManagementExperience: Deep manufacturing engineering technical capabilities5 years in maintenance and engineering5+ years of experience managing and leading teams in a manufacturing environmentStrong knowledge and ability to use Maximo and dashboards, and ability to leverage data for predictive maintenance and decisionsExperience dealing with environmental waste, hazards, and government agenciesStrong forward planning, shutdown, utilities, and risk mitigationSome experience in ProductionExcellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skillsAbility to communicate across all levels of business, including leadership and stakeholder managementIn depth experience in assembly manufacturing processesStrong problem-solving skills, including working knowledge of Six SigmaStrong negotiation and persuasion skillsDemonstrated ability to lead, empower and develop employeesStrong analytical, problem solving, and organization skillsExperience with data acquisition systems - installation, troubleshooting and repairEven better, you may have...Education: Master of Science in Engineering - Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial or otherKnowledge of Factory Information Systems (FIS)Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing PrinciplesKnowledge of constraint management principlesSafety and Quality experience preferredPrior experience managing a unionized workforceMicrosoft Office knowledge (Word/Excel/Outlook)You may not check every box, or your experience may look a little different from what we've outlined, but if you think you can bring value to Ford Motor Company, we encourage you to apply!As an established global company, we offer the benefit of choice.
