Electronics Technician

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Plan, execute, and report the results of testing on electrical components.
Perform tests such as performance, electrical, environmental, and durability.
Own many lab management activities, including managing improvement projects, ensuring high equipment uptime, and serve as the local expert on lab processes.
Integrate with fellow technicians, engineering staff and management.
Responsible for setting day-to-day schedules to align deliverables with the needs of the division.
Provide input for process/design improvements as needed.
Responsible for identifying coverage & process gaps and working to fill those gaps with available resources.
Lead trainer for other lab technicians in addition to a full workload.
Setup and run tests.
Troubleshoot failures found during testing.
Provide regulatory and RF physics consulting help to clients.
Document test results.
Maintain test equipment.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Bachelor’s Degree in engineering technology, electrical engineering technology, software engineering technology (or similar) OR
Associate’s degree in electronics, diesel power, or a related field.
5-7 years work experience in a related field.
Ham radio or software defined radio work or hobby.
General electronics experience.
Radio Frequency electronics experience.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
Ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems on a variety of systems.
Understanding of basic electronic concepts.
Knowledge of safe work practices, multimeters, oscilloscopes, soldering/harnessing, and hand tools.
Previous experience working in a lab environment.
Familiar with electronic lab equipment like Spectrum analyzers, Oscilloscopes, Power Meters, Amplifies, Signal Generators, and Network Analyzers.
General computer use, MS office, etc.
Familiar with soldering, crimping, reading a circuit diagram.
Understanding of radio frequency physics.
Knowledge of electrical components and/or hydraulic components. Knowledge of relevant computer applications, such as Microsoft Office products.
SOFT SKILLS REQUIRED:
Attention to detail.
Ability to take ownership of projects without constant oversight.
Ability to work with a diverse team.
Effective communication with team and negotiable skills.
Ability to explain a complex topic to an audience unfamiliar with the topic.
Proven experience working on a team as well as leading teams and/or projects.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $21.08 - $25.39 per hour
