About the Opportunity:
The PLATFORM ENGINEER JAVA is responsible for proactively remediating vulnerabilities across platform services primarily built with Java and Spring Boot. This role ensures the platform remains secure and reliable by managing upgrades, analyzing security findings, and validating that system changes do not cause regressions. The position contributes to the organization's stability and security posture by coordinating with security and release teams and occasionally handling related Python services.
Responsibilities:
- Remediate library vulnerabilities across platform services on a twice-weekly cycle
- Upgrade and manage dependencies including Maven BOMs, parent POMs, and transitive dependencies
- Analyze Mythos and Snyk security findings, assess severity and impact, and apply fixes
- Validate upgrades do not introduce regressions through build, test, and deployment processes
- Maintain compatibility across shared libraries used by multiple services
- Use AI-assisted remediation tools to accelerate upgrade workflows
- Coordinate with security and release teams regarding vulnerability SLAsOccasionally remediate Python dependencies in platform services
Requirements:
- Proficiency with Java 17/21, Maven, Spring/Spring Boot
- Experience with GitHub and Jenkins pipelines
- Familiarity with Python 3.x, pip, requirements.txt, and Poetry
- Knowledge of React, Node.js, and NPMExperience with AWS services (ECS, Lambda, IAM), Docker, and Terraform
- Familiarity with AI-assisted coding tools such as AWS Kiro or similar
- Understanding of security and compliance tools including Mythos and SnykSkills in vulnerability lifecycle management and CVSS scoring
- Pay Range and Compensation Package:
The pay range and compensation package for this role will be determined based on the candidate's experience, skills, and other relevant factors.
