Junior UI/UX Designer - 856 (Clayton)
Position's Contributions to Work Group:Analyze and understand how operators interact with construction equipment in real-world environments. Collaborate with users and internal team members to understand & define requirements. Develop UI concept layouts based on available display screen sizes and based on information needed by our internal & external customers. Collaborate with cross functional teams throughout our value chain to develop concepts into mature, validated, production-ready designs.Typical task breakdown:- Create wireframes, mockups and prototypes that meet project requirements, satisfy strategic consistency initiatives and create preferred experiences on our construction equipment- Design intuitive and user-centered interfaces for next generation machine displaysInteraction with team:- Collaborate with BCP UI Architect and cross functional product group teams to understand project requirements and user needs- Cross-Functional collaboration with Enterprise UI Designers and Architects to encourage strategic consistency across divisional productsTeam Structure- Position is within a matrix organization on a small UX/UI team supporting multiple Product GroupsWork environment:Large office with all disciplines of Product Development Engineering co-located next to construction machinesEducation & Experience Required:· Years of experience: 0-2 years of relevant experience· Degree requirement: Top Candidates will have a BS Degree in UX/UI, Human Factors, Psychology, Ergonomics or related discipline. 2-year Associates Degree is acceptable· Do you accept internships as job experience: YesTop 3 Skills· Previous experience as a UI Designer, with top candidates having UI development experience with Off-Road Heavy Equipment displays.· Previous experience using Figma for wireframing, prototyping, simulations, and specification documentation· Experience working with software engineers in relation to UI Design & product design architectureAdditional Technical Skills(Required)· Proficiency in MS Office(Desired)· Experience soliciting feedback from Off-Road Heavy Equipment operators· Knowledge of Human-Centered Design principles and ability to apply these principles in product designSoft Skills(Required)· Ability to collaborate well within a team environment· Effective verbal & written communication· Ability to think strategically & manage multiple priorities· Technical excellence· Initiative & Intellectual Curiosity(Desired)· Detail oriented individual and an eye for aesthetics and styling· High creativity but capable of working within our next generation design framework· Demonstrated High Emotional Intelligence· Initiative and be a goal-oriented self-starter
