Job Description KO Door is continuing to grow and expand into different markets around the country and as such is looking to add key players to our Estimating and Preconstruction Team as a Preconstruction Engineer / EstimatorYou can get further details about the nature of this opening, and what is expected from applicants, by reading the below.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in construction management, related field, or equivalent experience OR 3+ years related experience in the construction industryPreliminary knowledge of commercial and multi-family construction projectsProficiency with Bluebeam, and MS suiteDesired Skills and ExperienceAssist in leading or helping preconstruction efforts for project values up to $5 millionSupport other preconstruction team members on assigned projects inclusive of preparing estimates, quantity takeoffs, clarifications, and other project related tasksSolicit and compare pricing from all KO vendorsMaintain local and national historical estimating data and develop cost trendsPerform value engineeringInput and evaluate costs during the bid analysis processResponsible for providing the client with accurate estimates and value engineeringManage project hand-off process in a manner that ensures the success of the projectExceptional written, verbal and presentation skillsAbility to handle multiple projects concurrently and prioritize accordinglyDemonstrate ability for accuracy and thoroughnessEffective organizational and time management skillsTeam-oriented mentality and desire to collaborate across departmentsOther Characteristics:Clear and effective communicationAbility to motivate and gain trust from team membersAccountability and integrityGood decision making capabilities under pressureAbility to foster and maintain relationships with contractors, developers, designers, and vendorsCompany DescriptionWe are the premier turnkey door, frame, trim, specialties, glazing and hardware subcontractor for multifamily and commercial construction projects in Colorado.
