Senior Platform Engineer (Developer Tooling) | 6-Month Contract

We're supporting an innovative robotics company that's looking for a Senior Platform Engineer to embed directly with its controls engineering team.This is not a traditional cloud infrastructure or Kubernetes-focused role. Instead, you'll be building the tools, workflows and development environments that enable engineers to build, test and deploy software onto physical systems quickly and reliably.You'll be responsible for:Building and improving Docker-based development environmentsDeveloping internal tools and automation (primarily in Python)Troubleshooting Linux, Docker and networking issuesOptimising CI/CD pipelines, build performance and cachingMaking it easier for engineers to build, test and deploy code to hardwareWe're looking for someone with:Strong Platform Engineering, DevOps or Developer Tooling experienceExcellent Docker, Linux and Python skillsExperience building internal tools used by other engineersStrong CI/CD experience (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Bitbucket, Jenkins, etc.)Experience working with hardware, embedded systems, robotics, IoT or edge devices (highly desirable)Exposure to CMake and/or Bazel would be a strong advantageThis is an initial 6-month contract with a strong possibility of converting to a permanent position.If you enjoy solving complex engineering problems, improving developer productivity, and working close to hardware rather than purely cloud infrastructure, please apply.
