Orthopaedic Technician

Southlake Orthopaedics has an opening for a full-time Orthopaedic Technician to work at our busy and very fast paced orthopaedic clinics in Hoover and Grandview. As a Southlake Orthopaedics Orthopaedic Technician, you will provide assistance with the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician or advanced practice provider.Job SummaryPatient care responsibilities as assigned, which may include scheduling and organizing patient flow, accompanying patients to exam/procedure room, assist patients with changing to exam gowns, and transfer to exam table if neededAssess patient's general condition and collect patient historyDocument health history, activities, medication dispensed/prescribed, etc., in the medical recordProvide basic patient care as ordered by physician and assist physician with various proceduresProvides patient education materials, communicates physician advice/instructions to patientCast and splint application and removalFit patients with braces, boots, other DME as ordered by physicianWound dressing changesPrepare injectionsSuture and staple removalSterile tray set-upsObtain lab/x-ray reportsSchedule surgery, hospital procedures and pre- and post-op appointmentsSchedule MRI, CT scans, labs, etc.Schedule referrals to other physiciansPerform ECG studiesClean and stock exam roomsAdheres to infection control/safety guidelines and confidentiality policiesQualifications And SkillsHigh school diploma or equivalentPrior experience in an orthopaedic clinic preferredLPN, CMA, CST or equivalent experience preferredOrthopaedic Technician or EMT license preferredAbility to work independentlyExcellent organizational skillsAbility to multi taskAs a member of the Southlake team you can expect:Generous Paid Time Off based on years of serviceHealth & Welfare benefits starting the first of the month following your date of hire:BCBS MedicalDentalVisionCompany paid Life InsuranceVoluntary Life, Accident, Cancer, and Critical Illness coverageEmployee Assistance Program401(k) plan after one year of employment Referral Bonus programMonday - Friday schedule for most rolesPlease note: If you are viewing this position on an external job board (such as Indeed, LinkedIn, ZipRecruiter, etc.), unless specifically stated in the posting, the provided salary estimates may not be accurate as they are not provided by Southlake Orthopaedics.
