Diesel Mechanic or Generator Technician
Generator Technician / Diesel Mechanic needed for a full-time onsite role supporting commercial, industrial, and residential power systems across California. Responsibilities include inspection, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, emergency service, and start-up of diesel generators up to 2000 kW and related equipment including transfer switches, control panels, and fuel systems. Candidates must be able to read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams, maintain service records, provide customer support, and ensure compliance with safety standards.Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, minimum 2 years of hands-on experience with diesel engines and generator systems, strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, basic computer knowledge, and a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. Experience with brands such as Cummins, Caterpillar, Kohler, or Generac is highly preferred. EGSA or OSHA certifications are a plus. Candidates should be comfortable working independently in the field, participating in on-call rotations, lifting 50+ lbs, and traveling to multiple job sites.Schedule: Monday–Friday with after-hours/weekend on-call rotation. Compensation: $35–$60/hr DOE + full benefits including medical, dental, vision, PTO, holidays, 401(k) match, life insurance, and ongoing training.
