This on-site role supports hands-on mechanical testing of materials under low, room-temperature, and high-temperature conditions.This is a good fit for someone with direct material testing experience who is comfortable preparing samples, setting up equipment, running tests, and documenting accurate results.ResponsibilitiesPrepare test samples, including machined, molded, cut, dog bone, and coupon-style specimensSet up testing equipment with the correct grips, fixtures, extensometers, and strain gaugesPerform tensile, yield strength, compression, and 3-point bend testingUse temperature chambers to condition samples before testingMonitor load, extension, deflection, and material failure pointsCollect and review test data using MTGenius or similar testing softwareConfirm equipment calibration and proper instrument function before testingFollow ASTM, ISO, internal procedures, and safety requirementsMaintain accurate test records and communicate results clearlyQualificationsMaterial testing experience is requiredHands-on experience with tensile, yield strength, bending, and compression testingAbility to follow detailed testing specifications, procedures, and work instructionsFamiliarity with testing fixtures, extensometers, strain gauges, and data softwareComfortable working with low-temperature and high-temperature test conditionsStrong attention to detail, safety, and documentation accuracyAbility to work on-site in Schaumburg, IL for the contract assignmentBenefitsMedical insurance optionsDental insuranceVision insurance401(k)Apply today to be considered for this contract Materials Testing Technician opportunity.
