We lead the industry by offering high-quality, on-schedule, and cost-effective services, parts, and repairs which result in repeat business and positive customer feedback – we are known for our knowledge and experience.The Environmental, Health & Safety team of Mechanical Dynamics & Analysis (MD&A) is looking for an EHS Specialist in our Houston, TX, location. We are seeking candidates who have a desire to join a growing organization. The EHS Specialist is responsible for planning, establishing, implementing, and maintaining a variety of health, safety and environmental programs to assure the highest possible degree of safety for employees.Ensure Safety Hazard Reduction and Collaboration (SHRC) Teams are working effectively and focused on continuous improvement. Identify and resolve workplace hazards in accordance with safety protocols and regulations. Coordinate with EHS manager and environmental consultants on development and implementation of environmental management system, procedure and policies.Ensures the availability, readiness and proper use of required incident prevention procedures, safety and emergency preparedness equipment, protective clothing and devices, and first aid suppliesFacilitate EHS training program and conduct/document operator assessments (NHO, Mobile Equipment, Crane and Rigging, CPR/FA/AED)Maintains EHS Compliance records and tracks leading indicators, monitoring indicators and inspections for safety health, and environmental management systems and annual required programs. Coordinate the purchasing of all safety supplies, products and training itemsCoordinate / work hand in hand with facilities manager to complete facility related EHS initiatives. RequirementsMinimum QualificationsEducation/Certifications/Experience: EHS related degree with 1-5 yrs experience or EHS related certification (Ex. OHST) and 5+ yrs experience.Technical: Foundational knowledge of OSHA, DOT, Waste management and Environmental Regulations. Demonstrated knowledge of safety/environmental principles and techniquesDemonstrated ability to identify known potential exposures and lead implementation of corrective and preventative actionsDemonstrated interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing and train others (communication skills up and down organizational structure)Demonstrated computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office suite programsPhysical RequirementsPhysical ability to stand, walk, and remain active for the majority of the workdayPhysical ability to climb permanent and temporary ladders or stairs, navigate passenger use of personnel hoists, and the ability to walk/climb/navigate uneven surfaces and negotiate active work areas as neededPerforming this job requires use of hands to handle or feel objects, tools or controls, sit, talk, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawlEmployee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 poundsPreferred QualificationsBi-lingual (English-Spanish)Experience with DOT Hazardous Materials; RCRA Hazardous Waste Management; SPCC / Storm Water Permit processes. Experience with Human and Organizational Performance (HOP) and/or Serious Injury and Fatality Prevention (Energy Based Safety)Salary Description$80,000 - $90,000
