Maintenance Assistant

Maintenance Operations Manager This position oversees daily maintenance operations, ensuring that all machinery, equipment, and facilities are in optimal working condition. This role involves supervising a team of maintenance technicians, coordinating activities, and providing technical expertise to resolve complex issues. The Maintenance Technician will work closely with the Plant Engineer to develop maintenance schedules, troubleshoot equipment failures, and implement continuous improvement initiatives. Job Types: Full-time, Contract Pay: $24.00 - $33.00 per hour Expected hours: 40 per week Benefits: 401(k) Dental, Vision & health insurance, Life insurance, Paid time off Schedule: 8 hour shift Monday to Friday Overtime Weekends as needed Experience: Supervisory: 2 years (Required) Mechanical knowledge: 5 years (Required) Principal Accountabilities: Adhere to companies values, policies and procedures published in the employee handbook. Commit to being safety conscious and supporting the Injury and Illness Prevention Program through personal action of compliance. Maintenance Operations: Stay updated on new maintenance technologies and best practices to improve the overall efficiency of the maintenance department. Keep production equipment working properly and identify potential problems. Fabricate, design or modify necessary equipment for changes. Inventory & Resources Management: Manage and monitor inventory of spare parts and maintenance supplies ensuring availability when needed. Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to procure necessary parts and services. Ensure proper use and care of tools, equipment, and facilities. Reporting Directly To This Position: Maintenance Technicians Qualifications And Experience: Education/Experience: High school diploma and general education degree (GED); technical certification or associate degree in a related field preferred. Five years of experience in industrial maintenance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role. Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure. Language Skills: Must be proficient in reading and interpreting technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics. Computer Skills: Experience with preventive maintenance programs and maintenance management software. Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is often required to move around the plant; stand for long periods of time; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks. Work Environment: The work environment is a wet, plant environment, with machinery in operation and temperatures often exceeding a comfortable level without protective equipment.
