Become a maker of possible with us.Job SummaryAssembler I is responsible for performing a variety of entry-level assembly tasks, including building subassemblies and integrating mechanical and electrical components into finished products. This role uses hand tools and follows standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and quality standards to meet production requirements.Key ResponsibilitiesAssemble mechanical and electrical subassemblies using hand and power tools in accordance with work instructions and SOPsIntegrate components into larger assemblies, ensuring proper fit, alignment, and functionalityFollow detailed assembly drawings, diagrams, and written instructionsPerform basic in-process inspections to verify quality and identify defectsSupport testing and basic troubleshooting of assemblies as neededMaintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with 5S standardsAccurately complete production documentation and track work performedCommunicate issues, material shortages, or defects to Team Lead or Supervisor in a timely mannerParticipate in continuous improvement efforts and support team-based problem solvingRotate between workstations and tasks based on production needsQualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent required01 year of manufacturing or assembly experience preferredBasic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with hand toolsAbility to read, interpret, and follow written instructions and assembly drawingsBasic math skills and ability to perform simple calculationsEffective communication skills with team members and leadershipStrong attention to detail and commitment to qualityAbility to work independently and in a team environmentWorking Conditions & Physical RequirementsRegularly required to stand, walk, or sit for extended periodsFrequent use of hands for tool operation and component assemblyAbility to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds occasionallyMay be required to bend, stoop, or reach during assembly tasksAbility to work flexible hours, including overtime as neededRegular, reliable attendance is requiredAdditional ExpectationsAdhere to all safety policies and proceduresFollow company quality standards and compliance requirementsDemonstrate willingness to learn new processes and skillsMaintain a positive attitude and contribute to a team-oriented environmentAt BD, we prioritize on-site collaboration because we believe it fosters creativity, innovation, and effective problem-solving, which are essential in the fast-paced healthcare industry.
