Teacher/Professional - District Office - Career & Technical Education Job Number 0000764814 Start Date Open Date 05/26/2026 Closing Date ROLE AND PURPOSE The primary role of the Career & Technical Education Specialist will be to work directly with the Coordinator of Career & Technical Education, faculty, and Central Office departments to ensure the further development and sustainability of the district's CTE programs. QUALIFICATIONS: Education/Certification:Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution requiredValid Texas CTE teaching certification (preferred) Experience Required: Five years of successful classroom teaching experienceKnowledge of Career and Technical Education programsDemonstrated ability to coordinate and conduct teacher professional developmentKnowledge of new and emerging technologies in business and industry MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: I. INSTRUCTIONAL MANAGEMENTOversee curriculum development and implementationCoordinate and conduct teacher professional developmentOversee Career and Technical Education Programs II. SCHOOL/ORGANIZATION CLIMATESupports the district-wide goals and objectives for school and organization climateRelates to all Career and Technical Education staff and students in ways that convey equality and mutual respectResponds appropriately to situations that could impair the teaching and learning process or could threaten safety and wellbeing of students and staff III. SCHOOL/ORGANIZATIONAL IMPROVEMENTWork with teachers to meet instructional needs of all studentsAssist in the development, implementation, and evaluation of Career and Technical EducationWork with Special Education department to help ensure equal access for all students.Work with CTE teachers to develop curriculum in support of district goals and Strategic Plan IV. ADMINISTRATION AND FISCAL/FACILITIES MANAGEMENTAssist in the selection of textbooks, resource materials, and other instructional mediaAssist in developing the annual Career and Technical Education plan and other TEA reportsCollect data, prepare reports, and develop needs assessments for CTE and Carl Perkins legislationAssist in the development, implementation, and evaluation of Career and Technical dual credit programs V. STUDENT MANAGEMENTServe as liaison between Career and Technical Education director, teachers, counselors, and studentsWork with teachers to meet instructional needs of all students VI. SCHOOL/COMMUNITY RELATIONSAssist in conducting business and industry needs analysis for program developmentPromote Career and Technical Education programs in the schools and community, including technical dual credit programsCoordinate activities such as career days, course fairs, career awareness field trips, and registration in CTE programsDisseminate information about Career and Technical programs to students, parents, and the communityMaintain CTE websiteDevelop CTE promotional and marketing materials to students and community VII.
